Welcome to sourceforge.
This issue isn't your fault. Sourceforge uses a script to help "load
balance" downloads such as this, to be more efficient on their network.

I tried the scripts provide by KM4ACK, the "wget" url points to the right 7.9MB ?file in Chrome but downloads a 112kB file with a .deb extention using wget.

I was never able to get my mic input on the Signalink to work with my Pi. I switched to the PiTNC hat, and that resolved it for me, and made for a neater little package for use in the car.

I deleted the previous file from the download folder and and downloaded it again. It appears to be working and the file appears in the download folder. The downloaded file is only 112k

The connector on the back is USB for updating firmware.
Packet will have to go through the mic connector.
You will need an external or software TNC. It's not built in to the radio.
