A program like Morse Runner that runs on the Raspberry Pi
In case anyone is interested, while learning the algorithms used by Morse
Runner in order to modify it for my interests, I wrote a python version that is mostly a clone of Morse Runner. The source is available here: <>. It runs on my Raspberry Pi 4 with 64 bit Slackware. I also tried it with the Raspberry Pi operating system loaded on an SD card, and included a few sentences in the README.md on what needs to be installed for that to work. 73 Kevin w9cf |

Re: CQRlog mySQL error

Thanks for the hints and sorry, I indeed clicked on the wrong mailing list address when I quickly described my problem. Later, I remarked my error and sent the same mail to the right list, and W3DJS wrote he will look for a solution. So, this thread can be regarded as "closed" here on this list. By the way, normally, MariaDB (as a free fork of mySQL) is always installed in Distros instead of the original mySQL, with a symlink from mysql to MariaDB. But I have to investigate this, probably, to be sure. 73 Udo, HB9ERD Am 22.08.22 um 03:29 schrieb David Ranch: Hello Udo, |

Re: CQRlog mySQL error
开云体育Hello Udo, Considering HamPC is a customized version of Ubuntu 22.04 for X86 and not the usual focus of Raspberry Pi OS (and other distros) on Raspberry Pi hardware, it might be best to post this question to the dedicated email list for that ISO at [email protected] .? That said, if you search for "cqrlog 'Failed to find valid data directory'", you'll find several hits: ?? - ::? recommends to use MariaDB instead though this seems like a poor recommendation ?? - :: also recommends to switch to MariaDB ?? - :: again recommends to use MariaDB ?? - :: again recommends to use MariaDB Seems pretty clear that the recommended solution is to switch databases.? That's strange to me so it might be worth asking on the HamPC email list if anyone has ever gotten CQRlog working on this image before.? This might be an issue with the ISO that needs to be corrected. --David KI6ZHD On 08/21/2022 01:04 PM, Udo Isaenko

CQRlog mySQL error
I just tried to open for the first time CQRlog on my freshly installed HamPC stick.
Unless the HamPi (where it worked without any problems last night), I got a severe mySQL error: 2022-08-21T19:23:00.188690Z 0 [System] [MY-010116] [Server] /usr/sbin/mysqld (mysqld 8.0.30-0ubuntu0.22.04.1) starting as process 7165 2022-08-21T19:23:00.191332Z 0 [Warning] [MY-013242] [Server] --character-set-server: 'utf8' is currently an alias for the character set UTF8MB3, but will be an alias for UTF8MB4 in a future release. Hello,
I am Trygve Sjothun, EI7CLB, (my details are on QRZ). I have had my licence since 1986 but was out of the hobby for 20+ years although trying to SWL whenever I wasn't glued to a guitar. I am new enough to the Raspberry Pi and the various flavours of OS. I am really quite the LID when it comes to computing but I try. I am very interested in QRP and portable ops but age and all that goes with it make that a small bit challenging, that and the command line. I was pointed here by one of the members on the Linux Ham group. This is my introduction post. Thank you for the approval and I hope to wring the most out of my gear and capacity to use it. I am grateful. 73, Tryg -- |

Re: TNC-Pi9k6 will not register on linux using aplay -l and arecord -l commands
Mark Griffith
Hi, That's because the TNC-Pi9k6 is not a soundcard, but a KISS TNC.? It is accessed through the serial port /dev/serial0.? You won't be able to use it with JS8Call or similar apps, but you can use it with the PiGate email software or similar apps that need to connect to a KISS modem to send PACKET data. A program like Direwolf can take the place of the TNC as a virtual KISS TNC. If you need more help with this, please let me know as I am very familiar with the TNC-Pi9k6. Mark KD0QYN

Re: Internet Uptime Monitor for Pi?
Something about the posted error doesn't look correct.? You should have been in the ~/internet-pi directory when you got to step 3.? The requirements.yml file should be in that directory.
It's possible that the actual error message said that it couldn't find ansible-playbook?? Confirm that ~/.local/bin is in your $PATH.? That where the ansible scripts get installed by pip3. |

Re: Internet Uptime Monitor for Pi?
Here are the steps to get it going:
I get down to Step 3 and get ERROR! The requirements file '/home/n4srn/.local/bin/requirements.yml' does not exist. Did I miss something? Bret/N4SRN |
