Re: MiniProSC sound card info for BAP 3.0.8

Hi Dinoburb,

Just to clarify, you should add a CAT cable and then you will see the USB inputs you are looking for in FLRIG.

Re: MiniProSC sound card info for BAP 3.0.8

Hi Dinoburb,

I had the same experience, with the exact same configuration: G90, MiniProSC, Rpi mobile. I did the same thing, trying to emulate Julian's setup. In the end it turned out the addition of the CAT cable (USB) between the G90 and the Rpi was necessary. I was pulling my hair out for about 2 weeks until I figured that out.

Good luck!

Re: dual speed tnc's ?

Consider using two TNCs? One for 1200 and one for 9600? NinoTNC does both speeds and is only $30, build it yourself.

we are looking for a tnc that can "switch" itself from 1200 to 9600 baud.

we know that the Kantronics 9612 ex can, but I don't really want to
spend that kind of money.

an unattended digiapeater that will digirepeat whatever it gets would be
the answer.

I also am not sure I understand the difference between G3RUH and GMSK
9600 ??

The TNC-Pi9k6 is dual mode, and can switch modes with a few simple commands.? However, the radio is another problem, switching from 1200 to 9600 baud.

The latest PiGate software switches the TNC mode for you (if you have a TNC-Pi9k6 mounted), depending upon what RMS station you have selected for polling.

Hello Don,

There used to be a write up on NW Digital's website of how to do this but it seems to be withdrawn.? That said, there are some pros/cons to trying to do this and they can be found in the archives on the Direwolf email list but here is one for you to read:

Re: Micropython I2S audio library?

I don¡¯t know Python but aren¡¯t microPython and ciruitPython basically the same thing?

At this point, I really just want to make sounds. Eventually, I want to try playing .mp3s.

Well, this is a Pico, the new, little RPi microcontroller.

Hui Dan,

I'm curious...? ?why use Micropython on a Raspberry Pi when you can use full blown Python ?

I'm working on a project (well, that's not strictly trure; I'm just playing around with it :) ) that's not strictly ham-radio related. It uses a Raspberry Pi Pico and a ?to produce sounds. I'm wondering if any of you are doing something similar and have perhaps found a MicroPython I2S audio library to run the thing.

Cant get full screen hamclock on 7 inch touchscreen

I finally got hamclock to work, but i cant get a full screen on my ebay 7;inch touchscreen
I tried all the 4 resolutions with the make - j command and screen stays the same when i hit the up v carrot
with my mouse with all the different commands ...size stays small

i then found the rpi fullscreen command hamclock -f on, but now even with lowest resolution screen is just too big.

I looked at what i purchased thru ebay and its marked 1366x768...am i out of luck using this screen ???

thanks for help

Hi Dan,

Are you looking for something like midi or a music synthesizer? I am interested in that, too.

Re: MiniProSC sound card info for BAP 3.0.8

Most of the BAP users running the G90 hang out in this forum /g/KM4ACK-Pi/topics

I don't own the MiniProSC but I believe it is similar to the Signalink. Look for the sound card that has "Codec" in the name.

I would suggest getting a terminal window up, and typing aplay -l and seeing what you get, and then arecord -l and looking at the output from that.

?

The output can still take a bit of deciphering, but it will hopefully give you a better idea of what to look for for your USB Audio.

Good luck and try not to jump to conclusions about the feasibility of an OS too soon... in many cases, the problem is the user.

Re: RealVNC loses connection

Mark, David:
Thanks for your help.
I found something on the web last night about 2.4g wifi issues maybe being caused by HDMI cables.
In the living room to TV, I am running HDMI this is where I did the initial startup of PI when I unboxed it.? In the radio room, its headless.
So I went to 5G, connected direct, ran a ping back to the router, while in the living room.? Ran realvnc viewer from my phone.? Twenty minutes without a drop, changed to cloud, another 20mts without a drop.? Back to the radio room, now the router is 7ft away.? Wired up for FT8 ran on cloud, ran ping to the router.? In 30mts of running FT8 with a few contacts, not a single drop.
Before I went to 5G, on my desktop or phone I would see the ping stop when it dropped connection.?
Been running on cloud, FT8 for 30mts thing morning, no drops.
I will run the data test both of you suggested after work on both 5G and 2.4G

Thanks
