PI TNC - progress report.
开云体育Hi,
?
For
those?new to the group, I have been working on a TNC
for use with the pI that is the same size as the pi and plugs into the expansion
header. The prototype was a TNC-X, with a 26 way header superglued to board.
There is a photo of it on the home page of this group.
?
I now
have two TNC's running, and can connect between them. See photo at .
This show the prototype - the production boards will have a DB9 instead of the
Mini-DIN radio connector. A batch of production boards has been ordered, and
should be here in 2-3 weeks.
?
I've
also built a couple of units using the RMF22B 100 mW 434 Mhz tranceiver model.
They both transmit - I now need to get the receive side working. There is a
photo at
?
I
looked at the higher powered (500 mw) RMF12BP, and ordered a couple for
experiments. But?when I looked into the module in more detail I found it
was not compatible?with the RFM22B, and?is less flexible and more
difficult to program. I've since found the RFM23BP, which is a 1 watt unit that
is compatible with the RFM22B, so I've ordered a couple?of them for
testing, and designed a board that will take either the 22B or the 23BP.
Although it is primarily indended for use with the PI, it will also have an
async port, so it can be used as a standalone KISS
TNC/Radio.

Good evening,
I've
been wanting one of these for some time, but the idea of waiting who knows how
long to get one when ordering from the normal sources wasn't my idea of fun.
Last night I decided to bid on several that I saw on eBay; I won one auction
today and am waiting to see how the other one goes. Will enjoy having one (or
more) of these tiny wonders.

There is no wait if you order from either , or newark-element 14. If one doesnt have them, the other will. The rpi's are no longer back ordered. The big guys like jameco, erc. Are now stocking these boards. Ke6anm On Oct 2, 2012, at 5:02 PM, Matthew Pitts <daywalker_blade_2004@...> wrote:

Problems with Midori and Google Home Page
Has anyone else experienced issues with Midori crashing when loading the Google home page following an update to the new 'image'?
All was well prior to the update but problems started immediately after. A little research indicates a previous issue with such crashes, but these where not (it would seem related to the new image. 73 Brian G8OSN/W8OSN |
Farnell/Newark has a new enclosure for the RPi
Hi,
I got an email newletter from Farnell this morning in which they announced a nice little enclosure for the RPi. It comes in 3 colors (clear, white, black) and compared to the others I've seen (Adafruit, etc) it is also cheap. ,2113797,2113798 73, PE1ICQ //Arno |

I just tested the configuration. That is DVRPTR connected to the Raspberry and the Icom 207. Rebooting works fine now. again, thanks for the hint. 73 --- In Raspberry_Pi_4-Ham_RADIO@..., "pe1bzf_william_the_netherlands" <wvsutphen@...> wrote:

Thanks for your reply. i test this weekend the update The radio i use is an ICOM IC-207 with the DVRPTR and using the G4KLX software form Jonathan. Both ircddbgateway as the repeater (version number is unknown on this moment) I connect to the DCS007 J reflector. This reflector is used by a group of local d-star enthusiasts. regards, William --- In Raspberry_Pi_4-Ham_RADIO@..., "John D. Hays" <john@...> wrote:

The Ethernet problem is based a flag problem on the USB in the Pi -- if you haven't done so, update firmware and kernel

The connection problem could be a variety of things, which ircDDB server are you using (group-1, group-2, or test)? What radio / adapter / SW are you using for the repeater?

Raspberry with Ircddbgateway
pe1bzf_william_the_netherlands
Hi all,
I setting up my raspberry debian with ircddb (also known as Jonathan software)following the instructions from Hans-J. Barthen, DL5DI (see files section). Because the raspberry must work standalone with no monitor attached, i setup the system remote with an ssh terminal session. I found the following (strange) issues. 1. after installing ircddbgateway plus repeater SW and config the software using ircddbgw_conf, the gateway seemst to work. I can hear myself (roger beep) and simplex connections. 2. i cannot connect to a DCS server (probaly not configured right, needs extra investigation) 3. after reboot, i lost my ethernet connection. there is no IP address anymore. Not given by the DHCP server also (checked) so i cannot open a SSH terminal session to check what is wrong. The only way to bring live into the raspberry, is by reimage the SD card en start allover again. Ofcourse, i can connect and reconfigure Jonathan softare again with the same previous results. It seems to be a circle excercise. Who can help me with this issue ? for me, the most important and fustrating issue is losing my IP connection. Thanks, William, PE1BZF |

开云体育Bill (and others) ? Yes, it does run. I’ve just installed it (following instructions at ). As far as I can tell it is running – I can telnet to it, and it appears to be sending packets. I don’t know enough about jnos to test further. ? I’m running the standard PI raspbian disro with latest updates – Kernel 3.2.27+ ? 73, John G8BPQ ? From:

But.... Did you try running the resulting executable? Nothing has to be configured and it will create some junk folders in /root. The reason to do this is that the problem with compiling JNOS on some of the embedded (ARM?) Linux distributions - like Unslung on the NSLU2 - is that JNOS uses the setcontext/getcontext scheme and that wasn't supported. I could compile JNOS on the native NSLU2 environment but it wouldn't run... I'm moving my NSLU2's (and pogoplug) to Debian in hope of getting around this issue... 73 Bill - WA7NWP 2012/9/18 John D. I jumped early as well, I bought my first one on ebay for $60.00 Adafruit just started to stock them. I have bought a LOT of her kits, components, and products, because of the cool projects she starts up. Thats what we get for being impatient cant wait to get a new toy to play with. :-)))) Ke6anm On Sep 21, 2012, at 7:52 PM, OAT <kd6oat@...> wrote:

Thanks. Lesson learned. I jumped at this early without looking around to see how the pi would be distributed in the USA. Should have known better. I trust RS will come through only because others have told me they will.? In the meantime, this forum is great for helping me plan ahead. Thanks to all who contribute.? ? I ordered 3 from , and had them in 3 days @ $39.00 bucks each. Adafruit has fantastic customer service. I really like Limor ?because she is very involved ?in the Maker/ electronics, open source business. Their goal, is to get everyone building circuits, projects, and experimenting.? Plus, she's a cool Engineer chick, from MIT. ?:-)))) Ke6anm On Sep 21, 2012, at 12:56 PM, kd6oat <kd6oat@...> wrote:
