I am having issues getting PTT to work with VARA HF ....

My Pi5 has the latest (11JAN2025) 64bit Bookworm installed, with Pi-Apps and that is about all. It is all running on a 64Gb micro-sd-card.

So I had a go at installing the latest edition of "Winelink - RMS Express - VARA" from the command line. The install went well.
I have setup RMS Express with my credentials, and setup VARA HF with my licence details.?

But,?I can not get an RMS Express / VARA HF Winlink session to trigger the PTT in the VARA modem.
RMS Express with an Ardop session works fine. PTT is OK with that, but VARA is a non event.

One thing that may be related, is that RMS Express is not recognizing my VARA licence.

I have also tried VarAC v10.2.1 on the Pi5, but it also refuses to activate the PTT for a 'beacon' session.? If I click on the "tune" button in VarAC, it also tells me that my VARA is not licenced.
But, in the setup section of VarAC, where you get to test your COM setup, PTT works! So, that is promising.?

I have been using RMS Express / VARA successfully for sometime now with Windoze10, so I do know how to set it up properly.? I even have an RMS Express / VARA HF setup running fine on one of my Pi4s using a BAP3 version of KM4ACK's? 32bit software.
?
So, any ideas of what may be preventing the PTT function in VARA would be welcome.
