Based on that output, it seems the pi9k6 isn't hearing anything.? I
assume you're putting the audio out of your TM-V71A via the 6pin
DATA jack so check the cabling from the radio to the TNC.? If that
seems ok, the next step would be to either increase the RX level on
the pi9k6 (move away from "auto" to some fixed level) and/ or you
can also increase the level out of the V71.? To change the V71
level, you have to use Kenwood's windows-only MCP-2A utility:

If neither of those settings help your input RX level, you might
consider installing the pi9k6 soundcard alternative firmware and see
if you can record the incoming audio just like a standard
soundcard.? If you can't hear anything from your audio captures
there, you might have something wrong with the pi9k6.? Was this a
kit you assembled??
