Hi Don and Lloyd,
Here is the simple solution to that text to speech problem in a new install of Ham-Pi using the GUI:
- Pull up the start menu list by clicking on the big raspberry in the corner
- Click on "Sound & Video"
- Click on "PulseAudio Volume Control"
- In the "Playback" tab, scroll all the way down until you see "speech-dispatcher-espeak-ng : playback?on" with a slider bar below it.
-There should be a button that says something like "Built-in Audio Digital Stereo" with what looks like a little mute button with a red x next to it.?
-Click that mute button and it should turn dark-grey.?
