Balena Etcher didn't work for me -- I think I know what I did wrong, but I need somebody to tell me if I understand my error correctly.

The Raspberry Pi SD Card Copier instructions I found direct that a BLANK CDcard be inserted in one of the USB connectors.? The card I used was one I had already screwed up using my Pi.

I've now spent considerable time trying to format a used SDcard into a single 32gb FAT-32 partition with no success.? Anyone know of a simple way to make a used SDcard look new to Pi?
