Re: PAT / Pac-Link Unix / wl2kax25 Questions

That is more of a packet question. The answer lies in what digipeaters you are connecting to. Some such as FlexNet, NetROM, G8BPQ, JNOS and others might be part of a smarter network that has multiple ports and multiple frequency links to other nodes (). In FlexNet you would do a destinations list to see what other nodes are reachable but it also has the MH command. NetROM, JNOS and BPQ you would issue a nodes command to see what other nodes are reachable but those systems should also support MH. If the MH command does not work you can also try the JH command. Some more basic TNC's may be set up as a digipeater only on the same frequency. IF they have a real time clock and it is set correctly you can connect to it and the MH command should give you a data and time a station was last heard. Some nodes may not allow digipeating through them.

Packet is starting to make a comeback especially with nodes that support IP routing using the AMPR.org net. I would try to find some local packet experts in your area. Odds are they will be the older guys. Back when the internet first started and you had to dial long distance calls on your phone modems, regional packet networks were very popular. These days there may be more local packet activity with a gateway station that routes the traffic over the internet via the ampr.org (44 Net) that interconnects packet networks that don't have direct RF backbone path connectivity. There are maps on the EastNet pages that show this for stations that participate in that system. And this is a map of G8BPQ nodes while this maps shows some 44 net gateways and IP enabled nodes . This web site is a database of packet information new and old

Subject: [RaspberryPi-4-HamRadio] PAT / Pac-Link Unix / wl2kax25 Questions

I have a couple of PAT / Pac-Link Unix / wl2kax25 questions.

1) What are the commands to note which ( mheard ) statations are
digipeaters and then introgate what stations the digipeaters hears?

2) Using results from #1 above, what are the commands / settings to send
to a station I cannot hear but a shared Digipeater does?
