Re: First Event! May 10, 2023 @ 00:00 - 02:00 UTC #event_notice

I was an Rx lurker for this first RG event. I didn't really understand what it was all about so I just sat and copied what I heard to get the hang of it. I still don't understand what the team concept is all about, but I enjoyed participating as an SWL. Next time I'll be a full participant. Great idea, great fun!

Hi Gary,

Will probably change time/duration for a future event to make it more accessible in other areas (east and west).

But when conditions are tough remember you can make multiple repeat contacts with the same few stations and exchange additional code groups. I contact DF7TV a number of times on 20m.

It was tough, tough sledding on 20m for the event.? I¡¯m locked into that band and only that band by ridiculous HOA rules, so when 20m is a dud, my scores suffer.

Two QSOs in the first hour (after searching, not doing much pouncing, and a fair amount of CQ¡¯ing), and then I pulled the plug.

Looking forward to the next one (hopefully with with ¡¯normal¡¯ propagation)!
