RandomGram #8 will be a short 2-hour sprint on Tuesday Dec. 12th. The focus of this event will be slightly different than past events...
RG "Ten-lap Sprint" 1. Each participant will be issued a TX List containing only 10 code groups. No refills. As usual, transmit only one code group per QSO. 2. The primary objective is to transmit all ten of your code groups, one per QSO, for a maximum TX score of 20 points. (You receive 2-points for each group on your TX List that is received and confirmed by at least one other operator.) 3. The secondary objective is to maximize your RX points by copying as many code groups as you can in QSOs, and/or by SWL-intercept of other operators. Note that since you can never be certain the other operator in a QSO will correctly log and confirm your transmitted code group, you will probably want to make more than ten QSOs and re-send each group to other operators. This will help to ensure that each of your ten groups is confirmed at least once (thus, you complete the "ten laps"!). You will also continue to earn unlimited RX points in additional QSOs for every new group you log. The top score will have 20 TX points and the highest number of RX points. All TX 20 scores will be ranked above those with fewer TX points, regardless of their RX points. The Ten-lap Sprint is different from our longer RG events that offer participants an unlimited number of code groups. In those events the goal is to transmit a new group with every contact. The event details for RG #8 are posted HERE If you have any questions please post a followup or let me know. I'll update these instructions as needed. 73, Drew/AF2Z RG Mgr |
