Thanks to all who participated in RG event #5. Many ops have already submitted their RX code groups. You can see the current results (subject to change) at the top of this message thread, archived at /g/RG/message/124

If you copied any code groups during the event, either during QSOs or as SWL, please email them to me or the RG+Owner address. You can also just provide your log, of course. Any code groups you confirm will earn TX points for the sending stations and RX points for you.

There was a lot of QRM from the RTTY contest that started in mid-event. That probably discouraged some of our ops while others moved elsewhere in the band. As always, if you can only reach a few stations, don't give up! Remember, you can contact the same station repeatedly on the same band and exchange new code groups each time. I contacted a few stations about a dozen times apiece!

I used my dual-receive rig to good effect in this event. With one receiver tuned to another station I could eavesdrop on his CQing while calling my own CQs. Then if he got a response I could eavesdrop and copy the code groups they exchanged; or I could call him myself occasionally (and repeatedly, as mentioned above). This is a fun way to operate RG if you have a dual-watch rig or extra receiver.
