To do the same research for Culver City speedway nowadays would require many trips to a library that had the Los Angeles Times or Culver City newspaper on microfilm. Not an impossible task but very time consuming. The years would be 1949-1954. The CJA mostly raced on Sundays, but, for a period of time, switched to Saturday night. I hope this small amount of information is of use to you.
Tom,
?
I've already compiled most of it, at home! So many newspapers are available online now. The Times was great about covering the Sunday afternoon races, and the main part of the Saturday night season, but the period where they overlapped, not so good. The Saturday night programs were often ignored during that time. The Venice Vanguard newspaper filled in some early races. Unfortunately, the Culver City newspaper only has a few editions online, so to fill in the rest, I would have to visit the Culver City Historical Society.
