Very interesting - nothing in any of my information about an
assembly like that, Alan.
Those battery dimensions fit the MA934 battery exactly, both in
external dimensions and for the fixing bolts. Normally of course
these are 24 volt (for the TRA931, etc), but I suppose Racal could
have easily used the same case and configured the cells inside
differently. Might be worth a call to one of the suppliers who still
list Racal manpack batteries, and see if they know of a 12 volt
battery in this pack?
Actually, according to the Racal spec, the TA970H can have a supply
voltage between 14 and 32 volts - does it contain a regulator to
supply 12 volts to the '967? If so, that suggests they may be using
the standard 934 battery. These have turned up on eBay in the last
few months, so they are around.
According to my information, the MA934 is one of the few batteries
from this generation of manpacks that is only available asa
rechargable, and doesn't have a dry cell equivalent.
best regards,
Bob

I have a tubular frame that mounts a TRA-967 transceiver, a TRA-970
power
amp, an MA-972B ATU, a small junction box, and a (missing) battery
box. The
battery box would be about 13.5" long by 3.25" wide by about 4.5"
deep. The
box would have two mounting screws about 9.25" apart.
Does anyone have a clue on a Racal designation for this assembly?
Is there any source for the battery box?
