The Larkspur a40/A41 flexible thing does fit and therefore the whip that goes with it fits the flexible, so there is an alternative available. Mike B On 10/07/2010 07:57, theoden_rides wrote:

Re: BCC39B Vehicle Mount Handbook
Yeah, missed out on first one, got the second on a second chance offer but should have bought the third at half price! Never mind, I have had the BCC39B for at least seven years, probably longer, and this is the first time I have seen the VIU come up for sale. Is brand new but I had trouble fitting the radio to it. Broke one of the mounts on the VIU trying to do up the spring clip then realised it had a block on top of the heatsink that was stopping the radio fitting properly. Took that off an all fine but now need to find out what some of the settings are and find a power connector.

As for mounting it, I will have a close look at how PA5TJ did it ( <>) and see if I can make one too. Howard VK4BS On 8/07/2010 18:26, Stuartjmckinnon@... wrote:

Was that one I saw on e pay, and I take it it's working, all you have to do
now is find a way of attaching to vehicle, the rails or runners as some call
them, I could never find, I have 4 Panther 'H' in vehicle format, one in manpack
role, one of the vehicle ones comes up, synth out of lock, must strip it down
one day, I did that with three non working syncal 2000's, changed boards from
one to another, after 10 min's, all working, whoopee!

When you say vehicle mount, do you mean the VIU (PSU and Amp) or rails that
the 39 sits or attaches to?

开云体育Yes, I saw the schematic in the manual but was looking for the diagram for inside the handset, switch etc. I rewired mine so that I can get it to ptt but no modulation. Must be more to it than rewiring. ?Thanks to all for quick help. Bruce WD9GHK |

Re: tra 3910 hf set
I'd go with that: from memory, the initialisation process for the 3910 was much the same as the 3900, and most of the various fault codes that crop up will normally clear if you press enter: even healthy sets seem to throw up fault codes (especially with the COMSEC tests) , but eventually let you initialise them OK if you keep pressing enter.
The 3910 was best left with power applied to it, so that you did'nt have to repeat this every time you started it from cold: there is a battery hold up device, which sits in line with the vehicle power lead, that contains a small set of nicads for this purpose.? These turn up on eBay now and then, with the nicads totally fried, but once replaced will keep the set happy if you unplug the power to it briefly.

Re: tra 3910 hf set
If the initialisation procedure is similar to the 3900 VHF set, another group member helped me get on the right track.... Turn COMSEC switch to INIT, and power-on the set. After a bit INIT DONE will show in the display, then you may switch to SET and get into the NET menu and set channel information.
