Re: WANTED RACAL TA940B 100 WATT HF LINEAR AMP.
Hi Terry I'm not sure if our club does advertise its sales as you describe but it sounds like a good idea and I will put it to the secretary. They hold two a year and are advertised on the web site:

Re: WANTED RACAL TA940B 100 WATT HF LINEAR AMP.
Hi Terry Thanks for the TA940B dope. Nice piece of kit. 100W PEP 100% duty cycle. The MA 79 delivers 100mW into 75 ohms. The TA940B requires 5W PEP input+- 3 dB into 50 ohms so at least 2.5W PEP.

Re: Question on RA1779 Sensitivity
Peter, The RA1779 should be more sensitive than the RA6790 and it is normal for the receiver to be more sensitive in the WB position (less loss in WB mode). I would start by looking closely at the RF

My radio club had a junk sale a few months ago which included an RA17. Despite it being an auction with no reserve nobody wanted it. -- Mike G8GYW

Re: WANTED RACAL TA940B 100 WATT HF LINEAR AMP.
Terry, My interest in this topic stems from the fact that I have just built a new shack and I am in the process of re-commissioning a lot of equipment that has been idle too long. Among it is Racal

Re: Syncal 2000 won't turn on
Disassembly of the front panel is relatively straightforward. Remove the outer case, then disconnect the front panel flex.? Then there are some metric Allen screws you remove to mechanically

Re: Syncal 2000 won't turn on
I don't know if this applies to your unit, but I had a turn on problem and raced it to a failed conductor on the flex PCB going from the side board to the front panel.? I solved it with a jumper wire
