I have a large number 0f 6 pin plugs with cable attached still in there original packaging labeled Z42-5995-99-9232 CORD ASSY QTY.1 DON (CP) JAN 1973 R.A.O.C PRIMARY PACK. Which do fit the audio and control sockets on my Redifon GR479 station. the plugs are in very good condition (NOS) but the cable has started to perish and may need to be changed. These are For swaps or sale. Looking for the control cable for the RACAL VRM 44145 IOOW Programmable HF station or the 4 pin plug that fits the Larkspur INTERCONNECTING BOX 4 way NO.4. Also the 2 pin bulkhead connector that is fitted on the RACAL BCC39A/B or D.

Having been hunting for and buying 7 pin plugs for the later kit I now
need two 6 pin plugs for a connecting lead between the A13 and amp.

If anyone has either a couple of plugs available, or even a pin to pin
lead made up then I'd be interested in buying it off them.

I have an Ex Telford Electronics 1792, which I have had for approx 4 yrs now, purchased off the Bay, it has a mod on back for two terminals which take the input voltage currently feeding in 28v.

When I first had this rx, it was working ok, then I left it standing in a dry shack for at least a couple of years, on switch on it displays a load of nought's, if you switch off after a few min's, then back on again, it then shows two numbers say 54 a gap of an inch or so, then approx 6 numbers say 545550, that is on the freq display window(Non backlit) on the right window two digits at the far right????? pressing any button at random produces Jack!

Hi, I am looking for any information on the Racal Kaynard portable data transceiver which seems to be an earlier version or prototype for the FRM 4750.

The Kaynard (like the 4750) consists of three units, a dual HF synthesised Tx/Rx which looks like it is derived from a manpack, a PSU and 20 watt RF amp, and an encoder/decoder unit which takes pre-recorded tapes or can be used manually to send figure groups. There is a separate auto ATU designed for use with a long wire antenna. It was made for transportation in suitcases.

There are details of the FRM 4750 in Jane's Military Communications 1987 on page 447 and in the 1991/92 edition on page 446 with pictures. There is no mention in the 1979/80 edition and I suspect the Kaynard was introduced between these dates.

The Kaynard is painted brown and cream which suggests its users were not military. I have a set of manuals for the 4750 from which it is clear that there are some differences with the Kaynard. Amusingly the Kaynard has a front panel digital clock which consists of the body of a watch made in the Soviet Union.

If anyone has any info on the Kaynard itself or what organisation might have used it I would be pleased to hear from you.

It has a Nicad battery to back up the settings. It is an epoxy
encapsulated thing, yellow with white printed label, about 3 x 5 cm,
visible on one of the boards when you remove the case. It has two or
three button cells in it and can be replicated easily enough with NiMH
cells and then will not leak in the future.

It matches those in appearance yes. I have used it with both the TRA931
and 967. Fishermen use it with presumably standard marine VHF radios,
Narco trafficantes, I have no idea, but they can also be used with
telephones and fax machines.

wiring is the standard Racal audio one, but I don't have my books to
