Did you check the battery?
There is an active discussion on the RA6790/GM list now about the
1792.? Perhaps you should join that list.? Lots of help there.

When I first had this rx, it was working ok, then I left it
standing in a dry shack for at least a couple of years, on
switch on it displays a load of nought's, if you switch off
after a few min's, then back on again, it then shows two
numbers say 54 a gap of an inch or so, then approx 6 numbers
say 545550, that is on the freq display window(Non backlit) on
the right window two digits at the far right????? pressing any
button at random produces Jack!
