Hi,
I own a nice non-working Larkspur A14 manpack transceiver which quite surely suffers from the well known germanium AF114 (OC171 and others...) transistors issue of tin whiskers growing inside causing internal shunting paths.??
I read a lot about the various procedures to follow in order to reactivate those transistors but I would prefer to substitute all of them with suitable silicon ones.
I would also avoid to substitute them with identical NOS transistors which maybe already have tin whiskers grown inside or will be candidate for future similar issues.
Did anyone succesfully made such modifications to their A14 transceivers and which suitable silicon transistors can be used ??
Thanks and best 73 !
