ENDGAME - Sept Rehearsal Update 12
Hi All, I expect to be back for the Sunday rehearsal; while I'm feeling better, I'll still be within the 10day period since I tested positive for COVID and will be masked when out and about. One exception...I expect to be in the green room for prompting. While prompting, I don't believe I'll be able to wear a mask so please keep your distance or give me a chance to mask before you come near me. Prompting thoughts...There is a strong possibility that I will be prompting the performances from the green room. This puts an extra burden on anyone who will be in or passing through the green room. I will be focused on the script, so please do not expect me to answer questions or interact with you. I will also need quiet. If you expect to be in the green room during performances, please think about how this will impact you and we can discuss possible adjustments. As to September's rehearsal schedule, I've attached an updated sheet which I will also post on the blog site. We cancelled several weekday rehearsals while MikeK is away and added rehearsals on 9/11-9/14 for Hamm & Clov. If I've overlooked information you've provided on your availability, this is the time to update me. Note that the Sunday 9/1 rehearsal is now scheduled for 11-1. Rehearsals the week of 9/8-9/14: Darcy and Ron will be hard at work pulling the final set together, so we may need to make adjustments on where we rehearse or what we can do when on stage. Please bear with me as we navigate getting everything done. I hope everyone stays healthy for our last month together! Thanks Beth

ENDGAME - Sept Calendar Updates
Hi All, Based on the input I received, here's my comments and updated Calendar. If any of these changes won't work for you or I missed input you provided, please let me know. 2 hour Call times: Actors, until we decide what is actually needed, please make yourself available. If we need less time, we'll change the call time. Wednesday 9/4: I'll hold the time as an optional Nagg/Nall rehearsal. We can choose to not do it when we get closer to the time. Sunday 9/8: 3-5pm rehearsal time Hell Week - 9/21 and 9/22 @ 4-6pm 9/23 @ 7-9pm 9/24 @ 7-9pm: No Hugh. We will use this to fine-tune Tech needs and work specific actor needs. 9/25 @ 7-9pmPick-up Rehearsal - Scheduling this just before the final performances is proving to be difficult. At this point in time, I'm proposing we have this on Wednesday 10/2 from 3-5pm. If you know that this won't work for you, please let me know. Thanks for all the feedback! Beth

ENDGAME - Questions for Sept/Oct Schedule 6
Hi All, This email is regarding the September/October schedule. (The August schedule has been previously sent you and is posted on the blog.) For September, I'd like to get the days and times agreed to so you can block off your personal calendars. I've attached a rough draft for September showing the days planned for rehearsals, Hell Week, and performances. On this I've also listed expected absences. Questions for you... 1. General: Is there anything unexpected? Do I have all your expected absences noted? In September our rehearsals will be on Sunday, MONDAY, and Wednesday. OK? 2. Wednesday 9/4: If both Hugh and MikeK will be absent, do we want to forgo this rehearsal or change it to another day or do Sallie and Andy want time to work together? 3. Sunday 9/8: CAST players are to be out of the Theatre by 1pm. To be on the safe side, I'd like to move our rehearsal to 3-5pm. Can everyone support this? 4. Hell Week rehearsal times: My proposal is Sat & Sun 2-4pm; Mon-Wed 7-9pm. Does this work for everyone (everyone includes Tech: light, sound, costume, makeup). 5. Pickup rehearsal: I would like to have an actors only (no Tech required) rehearsal prior to our performance on Friday 10/4. I would like this to be on Thursday 10/3 7-9pm, my second option is Wednesday 10/2 7-9pm. Please advise if one of these days will NOT work for you. Please respond to the above questions and let me know if there is anything I've overlooked. Thanks Beth

ENDGAME - August Rehearsal Schedule 6
Good Evening All! I apologize for my unplanned absence from rehearsal last night and look forward to being back with you next Tuesday. I believe MikeM reviewed the August rehearsal schedule with you last night. I've attached my version of the same info, which is posted on the blog site also. Actors, please note the yellow highlighted info... you should be off-book for the first 2/3's of the play by Aug 7 and off-book for the full play by Aug 21. Stephanie or I should be at rehearsals to provide lines when needed. Please practice STAY IN CHARACTER while you wait for your line. We do need to start thinking about the rehearsal schedule for September also. Hugh had said he couldn't support Tuesday rehearsals into September, so I suggest we return to the original schedule of Sun 2-4, Mon 7-9, and Wed 7-9. I believe this will be an impact to MikeK on 9/16 and for Hell Week. If anyone else has a thought on rehearsal days, please share. We're moving along nicely and hopefully in August we'll be able to pull final thoughts on Set, Props, Costumes, and Makeup together. Please keep in mind that there may be various components we will not be able to finalize until early September, as the stage will be used for another performance that first weekend. Ron will address lighting once the set walls are finalized and Jeff is working sound (overhead mics will be used, so remember to project your voice). I've also not identified any sound effects needed, so if I've missed anything please let me know. Thanks for everyone's help and please let me know if there are any questions. Beth

ENDGAME - Props 7
Again... good morning! There are only a handful of props needed for this show, so we are going to try to do this without a specified Prop Master. I think if all of us pitch in, we can make it work. So, if you find you are in need of an item and we haven't discussed it with you, please call it out. All props from past shows are cleared out of the green room. The shelves are available for you to store (and leave) your props, costumes, or other personal items. Hamm: Stancher (NEED: nasty looking handkerchief) Glasses (we have something to try on Sunday) Whistle (is the one Hugh is using ok, or does it need to look different?) 3-legged black dog (NEED: stuffed, medium size so audience can see it, well worn is best) Gaff (NEED: Do we want a staff with a hook on it? What does this need to look like? The staff for Tiny Tim is currently on the stage to use.) Clov: Telescope (Ron has purchased one) Alarm clock (Mike M has purchased one) Ladder (Ron will find a 2-step, small wooden ladder) Dog biscuits (Beth will bring some in) Hamm's chair: NEED: VERY well worn, upholstered chair. Looks bad, but is actually comfortable for Hugh. Ron will put this on casters so it can be rolled around. Nagg and Nell ash bins: Ron has a plan that we are going to experiment with. Any other suggestions or info, please share. Thanks Beth

ENDGAME - Pickup Chair 2
Hi All, Andy has purchased the chair we will use for Hamm's chair. It is at the ReStore in Warrenton. It needs to be picked up and delivered to the Theatre. If someone has a truck and will be in Warrenton, please contact Andy for info on picking up the chair. Thanks Beth P.S. Yes, additional work will be needed to age it and have it move as we want it to.

ENDGAME - July Rehearsals 11
Good Evening All, I've posted an update on the blog site https://raac-endgame2024.blogspot.com showing the next couple weeks of rehearsals. Please look under the 'Pages' on the right hand side for the updated July rehearsal schedule. I've broken the script into 3 parts and we will focus on one of those parts at each rehearsal. The rehearsal schedule identifies which pages we will focus on during each rehearsal. On Sunday July 28, we will do another full run-through. For the next 3 rehearsals, I've added that we will work on blocking instructions as provided in the script for at least one of the passes through the lines. Monday rehearsal... 1. These are difficult for MikeK to get to. The part of the script I've scheduled to be addressed on Monday rehearsals includes several pages that are just between Hamm and Nagg. If MikeK is not there at 7pm, we should start with the Hamm/Nagg section. 2. Question for Hugh, Sallie, MikeK, Stephanie: Since MikeK is having trouble with Monday rehearsal, are you available to change Monday rehearsals to Tuesday 7-9pm? Thanks Beth

ENDGAME - Props still needed 4
Hi All, There are still several props that we could use help procuring. If you have something that might work, please bring it with you to a rehearsal or send a photo. 3-legged black dog: The one we have is OK. We would prefer one that is somewhat taller and has longer fur. 'Blanket' for Hamm's lap (possible ideas: tapestry type of rug, afghan. Should be worn looking and a 'larger'-size to drape over Hamm's legs) Old metal sprinkle tin Hamm's chair: Prefer an old-style office chair or an upholstered chair. Would like it to swivel and roll. Rolling is really important, but we could add casters to the legsThanks Beth .

ENDGAME - Set Walls 3
Hi All, We are not able to paint the set walls until September, so until then I'd like to have the walls painted black. I am not able to work on this for the next week or so, but if anyone else enjoys painting please proceed. There should be black paint and painting supplies in the old Theatre. If not, purchase a gallon of cheap FLAT black paint and I will reimburse you. Thanks Beth

Endgame Photos and Videos
This link will give you access to any photos or videos that I upload to DropBox. I focused on providing a video for staff and cast use only. I do no editing other than to make an MP4 file of low but adequate quality so that you may see yourselves in action on the stage. These videos will be deleted after the final performance. Copy the link and enter in your browser. I can't seem create a live link in this group. I have also added a couple photos from Wednesday's rehearsal. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/ox3iji9en3o6j39bt51qs/ABUvEpCvMVXDE0Gf7CG4cPI?rlkey=5qsfn3b4zevuj5852vzflgopx&st=odgcbxtt&dl=0 Ray

ENDGAME - Sunday Rehearsal 2
Hi All, REMINDER: we will be doing a full run-through on Sunday. We don't plan to stop and comment, we want you to run straight through. Where you feel comfortable being off-script, excellent; otherwise, please use your script. Remember to stay in character! If you want to work any blocking...we are now thinking we will be using the full stage and the sea and the earth windows will be in different positions upstage. Just do what you can while we work through the logistics. A couple notes relative to Theatre use... The town of Washington is working on its water supply this week. To be on the safe side, please do not drink the tap water on Sunday. If you need water, please get a bottle from the green room. If you use the restroom, please make sure the toilet valve flapper closes after you've flushed. Thanks Beth

ENDGAME - Notes from 5/26 Rehearsal 2
Hi All, When I receive a copy of the recording of our discussion today, I'll forward it to you. While these do not do the conversation justice, here are summary notes I took... Mike doesn't want actors to be yelling at each other throughout (as some productions have done). We can increase intensity as the show progresses. Wants Hamm/Clov to reflect they have a mutual interdependence even if the characters aren't actively aware of it. Underlying the Hamm/Clov relationship is a real affection How do we feel about Mom/Dad in the can? How we use words & 'coloration" can affect the meaning. We will try different variations during rehearsals. Wants the audience to leave the performance NOT thinking that the play was 'absurd'. Wants their first reaction to be 'what a great play!'. The next thought is what great acting! For this to be a great play, the 4 actors must understand their own and each other's character, and you must ENJOY your role. You all need to be tight. It won't be great if each of you have an individually great performance; a team performance is required. Thanks Beth

ENDGAME - verify group 2
Hi All, I'm sorry to do this to you, but I learned the hard way tonight that some people who I thought were receiving these group emails, were really not getting them. Would you please confirm that you got this. And if possible, when you reply, replace the groups.io email with my own email. When you reply to a groups.io email it goes to EVERYONE on the email list.
