Nature discussion: Article: Details on Y-chromosomes in Table 6: ? There are few new Y chromosomes of interest. Of potential relevance is I6884, dated to 2852-2500 BC near Rostov-on-Don (47.22 N 40.1 W) and typed as R-L51. R-L51 is the precursor to R-U106 (R-L151>P310>L151>U106) and is dateable to circa 4100 BC. I6884 post-dates the Corded Ware Culture migrations, but is one of the earliest R-L51 samples we have, and (I think) the earliest in the former USSR, somewhere in which we think our ancestors in this period originated. ? - Iain. ? |
