Great AET and Showcase
Alan
As I have a baby coming any minute, now, I will not be attending
Nashville and have a great seat! I'm not at the tickets right now, but I remember them being good. I have one AET and one very nice Showcase seat (fourth row?). Please let me know if you need it! Alan Gordon gotchabari@... Verdugo Hills P.S. I guess I also need to say that Bobbette will have new cousin, Dottie Henshaw will have new granddaughter, and June Bressler will have new grandniece. This way, Bobbette doesn't need to try to explain it from stage... =) |

Fall Seminar
Sloan, Elizabeth A Ms RCI
Hello,
I am new member to Region 11, currently CAL, and I'm looking for a roommate for the Fall/Winter Seminar. I have been a Sweet Adeline for 11 years, and since my husband is in the military, I've been a member of several Chapters/Regions over the years. I'd love to get to know some folks in the Region! Is there anyone out there looking for a roommate for Friday and Saturday night of the Seminar? I love to sing, and hope to have all the STAR songs ready before that weekend. Can't wait to hear that Barbersop sound again! Feel free to email me at elizabeth.sloan@... Skyliners for sale!
Have you seen Skyliners?? They're a fun, lightweight object that you twirl
in the air to display messages in lights. If you'd like to take a look at them, click here: <A href=">The Skyliner - Virtual Message Writer! Spells y…</A> or go to www.theskyliner.com. They have 10 preprogrammed messages, such as "Let's Party", "Happy Birthday", etc. and room for you to program 3 messages of your own. Channelaire has a chance to purchase Skyliners for $15 each. The list price for the unit is $20 and some people have paid $25 for them. Many of our Nashville travelers will be purchasing them and will program our Region 11 competitors names in the unit so they can be seen from stage. To get this price we have to buy 144 units, and as you can imagine the chorus cannot afford to front the money with all of the Nashville expenses coming due within the next couple of weeks. So we need to have the biggest share of the units sold and paid for before we order. If you would like to order a Skyliner (or a several of them!) -- either for Nashville, regional competition next March, or for holiday presents for family and friends, please respond to this e-mail BY MONDAY, OCTOBER 7 with your name and the number of Skyliners you would like to buy. I'll forward your name to our Skyliner Chairperson. We will know next week if we have enough orders to make the purchase. If the order is a "go", we'll contact you right away and ask that you send a check immediately. Debbie Curtis Channelaire Chorus <--- #33 (last) in Nashville "It Ain't Over Till Channelaire Sings" |

From: Region11members@... Date: Tuesday, October 01, 2002 11:18:02 To: Region11members@... Subject: [Region11] It's time to sign up for Trial Scoring! October 1, 2002 Hey, Region 11! Region 11 is offering a Trial Scoring opportunity at the 2002 Fall/ Winter Regional Seminar during the Novice Quartet Contest on Friday, November 22 in Bakersfield. This is an excellent educational opportunity for singers of all levels of expertise to learn more about our craft. This seminar's panel of judges will include Dot Calvin in the category of Music, Judy Ashmore in the category of Sound, Kathy Laderman in the category of Expression and Dede Nibler in the category of Showmanship. Anyone and everyone in your chorus is encouraged to pick a category, pick up a pencil, and learn what judging is all about. All you need to do to participate is fill out the information requested below and return it to me or send me an e-mail indicating her interest. Be sure you include your name, chorus name, address, and the category — Music, Expression, Sound or Showmanship — that you'd be interested in judging. A pre-contest briefing will be held to give out paperwork and go over each category and the use of scoresheets. Post-contest meetings with individual judges will be held to answer questions and evaluate the scoring work. Attendance is limited to the first 17 applicants — first come, first served — so sign up today! All participants will receive notification prior to competition weekend of their judging category and the schedule for the pre-contest briefing. This is a fun class, a great way to see and hear the contest, and an opportunity to take a walk in a judge's "shoes." I look forward to seeing you in Bakersfield! In harmony, Kathy Laderman Trial Scoring Coordinator To sign up, please send me the following information: YES! I would like to participate in trial scoring!
