Link to Convention program!
Hi all — Here’s the link to the digital version of the Region 11/ Region 21 Convention program. If you didn’t order a printed program, download this and keep it available for your reference throughout the weekend. The file is 10MB, so keep that in mind. It’s also in full color, so it’ll use a lot of ink if you try to print out the whole thing! If you ordered a printed program, you’ll pick that up when you get your name badge at registration this weekend. See you all in a few days! The Regional Competition Webcast is available to purchase! Invite your family and friends to watch you compete live!
Hello Region 11! Contest is less than one week away and it's starting to feel real! This year, your friends and family who can’t make it to Torrance can still watch the competition live! They can catch all the performances of the quartet and chorus competitions for only $25. Sign up here -- https://www.region21.org/signup-for-live-broadcast. An email with the password and instructions will be emailed prior to the competition. Note that the link and password sent to you are unique and cannot be shared. The technology and personnel required to produce this live broadcast is expensive, but your regional leaders have made it super affordable. The $25 fee to watch all the quartets and choruses from Region 11 and Region 21 is a real bargain so be kind to your regions and don’t share passwords! Spread the word to support this webcast and your region! After all, this is the FIRST EVER joint contest in Sweet Adelines history. No one should miss this! In fact, be sure and tell your friends and family that the webcast will only broadcast the contest live. There will be no delayed viewing options so be sure to tune in on time. A link to the program will be available on the webcast page. The quartet contest starts at 12pm Pacific Time on Friday, April 4 and runs until 9:30pm. Webcasters for the quartet contest are: Session 1 – Laura Pallas Singer (R11) / Lori Lyford (R21) Session 2 – Laura Pallas Singer (R11) / Patty Cobb Baker (R21) Session 3 – Tove Hoch (R11) / Jana Gutenson (R21) The chorus contest also starts at noon on Saturday, April 5 and runs until 8pm-ish. Webcasters for the Chorus contest are: Session 1 – Tammy Ragsdale (R11) / Kim Vaughn (R21) Session 2 – Mary Ashford (R11) / Bonnie McKibben (R21) With 34 quartets and 18 choruses competing in this joint contest with Region 21, it’s going to be epic! URGENT: Hotel situation
Hello Region 11: The Region urgently needs your help! We are short of booking the number of rooms needed at the Residence Inn for competition and the Regions will be responsible for up to $6,000 in hotel room fees if we don't get them booked! If you booked at another hotel other than the Torrance Marriott or the Residence Inn, please change your reservation to the Residence Inn. We need at least 12 groups (for 2 or 3 nights each) to do this. They have many first floor rooms and are holding a block of these for us They have Thursday night rooms available at our rate They have extended our reservation deadline to March 14. They are not holding rooms for people displaced from the fires All rooms are suites and they have kitchens in their rooms! To make your reservation as easy as possible, you can contact our representative directly: VINCENT MAYBERRY Admin/Event Specialist O 310.543.4566 Vincent.mayberry@... Or book online through our link: https://www.marriott.com/event-reservations/reservation-link.mi?id=1736267855776&key=GRP&guestreslink2=true&app=resvlink We realize there are a variety of valid reasons that people booked elsewhere, and appreciate that reasoning. But we're in a situation now and really need your help to make the competition weekend financially successful for both regions. Please change your reservation and help our Regions with this financial burden. Thank you for your help! Debbie Curtis Region 11 Events Coordinator (Convention)

Choruses and Quartets: Updates needed on the Region 11 Website
Hello Region 11. There is a lot going on in preparation for our Joint Regional Convention and Contest with Region 21, now just 7 weeks away! I'm sure you've noticed the increase in emails from the R11ng in your inbox these days. Please read all the communications that are coming out from your Region 11 convention organizers. It's important to stay informed about this special event! I'm glad I did today because I saw this bit of info in Sue Walker's email regarding the Year in Review: ? I will be using logos and current chorus contest pictures on the R11 website. If you have a more current logo/contest pic or logo, please send this as well. Let's help Sue out. I invite the marketing person from each chorus and quartet to visit your page on the Region 11 website. This would be an awesome time to add or update the photos and logos posted there and make Sue's job a bit easier. You'll need to log in to the Members Only database to make changes. If anyone needs help, please send an email to webmaster@.... Regards, Lora Goodpasture Your Region 11 Communications Coordinator and Web Master

YEAR IN REVIEW VIDEO 2025
Hello, Region 11! It's time to celebrate another fantastic year of harmony in pictures. Please coordinate with your TC/Presidents & Directors to send in your favorite chorus and quartet moments of 2024-2025 Year. We will be creating our annual video slide show connecting all our efforts and sharing all we've been up to all year! This video will be shown over contest weekend online. Link will be provided at that time. ? Each chorus, including your chapter quartets, may send 4-6 pictures from your activities during the year. These should be candid pictures that you choose to represent your group. If you have video shorts you would like to include...performing, candid moments, fancy choreo move etc, I will happily include this as part of your picture count, but it must be cropped to no more than 6 seconds. Be creative! ? I will be using logos and current chorus contest pictures the R11 website. If you have a more current logo/contest pic or logo, please send this as well. ? Theme this year is "Harmony Hand in Hand" if you want something to guide your visual choices, this is an option. ? It is helpful to include details of your photo name of chorus/quartet/coach/guest what activity it is depicting when and where it was taken ? To avoid a flood of notifications, select "reply" rather than "reply all" to send your photos in this thread. If you send a separate email, please use "YEAR IN REVIEW 2025" in the subject line and include the name of your chorus. Send to moonsuep@... If you are sending small pics (2 inches/500 pixels) they may work better in a collage. I can do this for you if needed. Speaking of which, collages = 1 pic. Many of you have sent these in the past and they're a great way to feature more of your activities, hard work, and fun. I am setting the deadline for return pics by MONDAY, MARCH 17th.If you have an occasion you want to include that occurs after this, just give me a heads up and I can add you later. No problem. If you miss the deadline and I cannot get a hold of your chorus for some odd reason, I will stalk the internet for photos. I never leave anyone out. But fair warning...I have photoshop and I am not afraid to use it. If I have to go looking, I may just add myself to all your pics. Thank you all! Rotating Plaques and Awards
As excitement builds to se the order of appearance information, please take a moment to coordinate your rotating awards and plaques. Division A Small Chorus, Division AA Mid-Size, and overall champs as well as Novice Director of the year you all have plaques and or trophies to have engraved with your chorus's name and year 2024 ready and updated for competition 2025. If you are running out of space to add more names, consider a new layout plan for previous names and winners so new names can be accommodated. If there simply is no more room, contact me so we can discuss a new trophy situation. Region 11 should have two long tables to display medals and trophies, and your chorus plaques and trophy returns should come to me personally or these tables. I will be in Torrance as of Wednesday and setting up Thursday morning/afternoon so please bring your return awards and plaques to me or to the award tables in the ballroom. Winners' Circle awards including Novice participants in Quartets, Quartet champs etc, you will coordinate with the Winners' Circle via Shawna, but please go ahead and make sure you have your trophy and plaque returns ready for them as well. Pretty sure the awards will all come to the 2 R11 Award table for these as well. Also, if you have any duplicate chorus medals you have won in the past and don't know what to do with them, please consider donating them back to the region to let them relive their magic another year! I am proud of my keepsakes, but my duplicates will be getting a polish and a new shiny cord for someone else to enjoy instead of collecting dust. Thanks for your consideration on this repurpose /reuse project but... you earned your bling, if you love them, keep them! Let me know if you have any questions and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in April! Contest hotel situation
Hello Region 11 - Due to an unforeseen number of people arriving on Thursday night, both hotels sold out of our contracted hotel rooms - just for Thursday night. There are still rooms available for Friday and Saturday nights. Just adjust the dates when you do the search to include just those 2 days. There are only King rooms left in the Marriott block, but the Residence Inn has both King and Double/Double rooms. We still have a booking quota to meet for Friday and Saturday at the Residence Inn. If you really need Thursday as well, an option is to reserve Friday and Saturday through our link to get the discounted rate, and then add another night at their standard rates. If you have accessibility needs that the Residence Inn cannot accommodate, you have the option to book a room at nearby hotels (no additional fee for booking outside of our hotel blocks). The following hotels are located near the Torrance Marriott: Courtyard by Marriott LA/Torrance/Palos Verdes - approx. 1 mile Best Western Plus Avita Suites — approx. 1/2 mile Doubletree Torrance/South Bay — approx. 1/2 mile Also, if you are local to the Torrance area and have a room booked for Thursday night, why not sleep in your own comfy bed that night and release the room on Thursday for people who are coming from out of town?! No pressure, just a suggestion! Debbie Curtis Region 11 Convention Events Coordinator Region 11 Contest Communications/Program Chair
