Today, our region lost a dear friend. Joan D’Agostino was a superb arranger and a wonderful baritone. She had the funniest laugh and her high-pitched baby sneezes were hilarious.
Joan was a charter member of Carpe Diem, having won a gold medal with us in the Harmony Classic in 2016. She was a long-time member of ChannelAire, and started her Sweet Adelines career with Agoura Hills Harmony.
Please keep Joan’s family in your prayers, especially her wife, Susan.

This Friday is the last day to register for your All-Events Ticket (AET) — all competitors and Region 11 members must register.?
Friday is also the last day to register your guests for an AET or a Single-Event Ticket (SET) for either the Quartet Contest or the Chorus Contest. (AET and SET tickets for audience members will also be available at the door.)
This year, the SAI Region 21 contest will be held in the heart of Region 11 at the Marsee Auditorium at El Camino College in Torrance, CA. Members of the region will be housed at the Marriott in Torrance. The contest will be held April 11th-14th. For the first time since COVID, we are organizing a “Harmony Boutique” with outside vendors. The Lighthouse Ballroom near the lobby of the Marriott will be the hub for region 21 activities, registration, and the “Harmony Boutique.”
?
Do you know of a vendor who would like the opportunity to promote their products to over 500 women and their guests? If yes, I’d love to hear from you. You already know the kind of things the SAI audience loves to shop for: anything that blings, jewelry, musical-themed items, t-shirts, make-up, bath products, handbags, travel products, clothing etc…
?
Feel free to send vendor information directly to me, or you may also share my contact information with a potential vendor. ?I have an information packet and application ready to go. I look forward to sharing the list of the participating vendors with region 11 boutique managers. Since we will be back in Torrance in 2025, this could be a 2-year opportunity.
It's time to celebrate another fantastic year of harmony in pictures. Please coordinate with your TC/Presidents & Directors to send in
your favorite chorus and quartet moments of 2023-2024 Year.?
We will be creating our annual video slide show connecting all our efforts and sharing all we've been up to all year!?
This video will be shown over contest weekend online. Link will be provided at that time.
?
????????Each
chorus,?including your chapter quartets, may send 4-6 pictures from your activities during the?year.?
These should be candid pictures that you choose to represent your group. Even your zoom meetings!?
If you have a teeny tiny less than 6?second video snippet you would like to include...performing, candid moments, fancy choreo move
etc, I will happily include this as part of your picture count, but it must be cropped to no more than 6 seconds.?
?
????????I
will be using logos and current chorus contest pictures the R11 website. If you have a more current logo/contest pic or logo, please send this as well.
?
????????Theme
this year is "Blue Skies" if you want something to guide your visual choices, this is an option.
?
????????It
is helpful to?include details of your photo
??? name of chorus/quartet/coach/guest
??? what activity it is depicting
??? when and where it was taken
????????To
avoid a flood of notifications,? select "reply"?rather
than "reply all" to send your photos?in?this thread. If you send a separate email, please use
"YEAR?IN?REVIEW?2024"
in?the subject line and?include the name of your chorus.
If you are sending small pics (2?inches/500 pixels) they may work better?in?a collage. I can do this for you if needed. Speaking
of which, collages = 1 pic. Many of you have sent these?in?the past and they're a great way to feature more of your activities, hard work, and fun.
?
I am setting the deadline for return pics by
Sunday,
MARCH 3rd,
National "I Want You to be Happy Day". If you have an occasion you want to include that occurs after this, just give me a heads up and I can add you later. No problem.?
?
If you miss the deadline and I cannot get a hold of your chorus for some odd reason, I will stalk the internet for photos. I never
leave anyone out. But fair warning...I have photoshop and I will use it. If I have to go looking, I may just add myself to all your pics.

If anyone or anyone has a contact who has either of the below items and can bring them to the OPAC for contest, it would be greatly appreciated! You would be helping the region to save some money from procuring them by other means!?
1- Orange Traffic cones - medium to large. We need 12 cones to reserve spots for each quartet for the Friday contest (they do not all need to be the same)?
2- Office chairs - need to collect 6 (do not need to be all the same), preferably black or dark colored, must be comfortable and rated for 8+ hours. Ideal if they are rolling and swivel. These are chairs that the judges and other pit crew will sit in, and we want our judges to be as comfortable as possible!?
Now that it’s February, Contest is NEXT MONTH! Yikes!
Online registration for our Convention is now open. Things look a little different on our new website — just click on the red ticket "icon" to start your registration process!!
