The winner's circle is currently discussing the most promising plaques. I will update as soon as I hear the results of this. In the mean time, hold your plans to engrave until then, if you haven't taken them in yet.
We will soon have three positions opening up on the Region 11 Management Team! I have attached a document which list each position's responsibilities. If you are interested in serving in one of these positions, please complete the Application Form below.
Harborlites will be hosting its 17th annual Diva Day music festival on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at the Robert B. Moore auditorium on the campus of Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. The daylong event culminates in a late afternoon “Festival Showcase” ?for friends and family (see attached flyer.)
Festival clinician, Melody Hine, will direct the enthusiastic students as they perform the songs they have learned. Quartets with members from both regions 11 and 21 will get some valuable “rug time” prior to upcoming contests. The current Region 21 quartet champions, “Solo Voce,” will be featured performers as they debut their new tenor, Kim Alley. And finally, the Harborlites Chorus will perform a short package before joining with the students for a combined chorus finale.
It will be a wonderful show and best of all, IT’S FREE, however we will be accepting donations to support youth education programs.
Make you plans now to attend. We’d love to see you there.
Region 11 now has a new website accessible at??.? Bookmark this page!?You will access the new website to register for the Regional Contest, beginning February 2.? Details on this process will be coming soon from Debbie Curtis via the R11ng. In the?meantime, feel free to look around the public portions of the site,?including the page devoted to the upcoming contest.? Just don't try to register yet.? Please wait for further direction from Debbie.?
You currently do not have access to the Members section of the website, which is still under construction. When this becomes available in a few weeks, you will be able to access and update your membership information in the member database.?
In addition to keeping track of our R11 members, their respective choruses, quartets, leadership roles within the chorus and region, the Member section will also be a resource for music, educational videos, news, the calendar of events and associated details.? These sections are still being built and while we expect it to be a work in progress for a while, we will make workable portions available to members soon. Best regards, Anita Treichel Region 11 ~ SAI Communications Coordinator
If your chorus and/or quartet is planning to compete at Regional Contest in Oxnard in March, the deadlines to register with International are next week! The links below take you to the information portal and the contest registration page.
QUARTET PORTAL
Deadline: Jan. 22
CHORUS PORTAL (for Directors and Presidents/TCs only)
Deadline: Jan. 23
The Draw for Order of Appearance will be held on January 29.
I’m sure you all have heard the news that we are quickly coming to the day our new website will be operational! We are so excited!
I am being told there may be some issues with our current site while this process takes place. Our wonderful Laura La Borde is currently in the middle of the change-over. She said our current site may be unavailable today while the transfer is happening. Making the change to the name-servers is easy, but it will disrupt the connection to the old site.?
This will hopefully only be a short time, if at all. Either way we appreciate your patient while we get this done!
While we’re all in full "holiday performances mode" right now, don’t forget that our regional contest is just 3 short months away.
The attached PDF gives you a lot of information you’re going to need fairly soon.
In the meantime, use the links sent to your Directors and Presidents/TCs last week to start making your hotel room reservations. The links are also in this PDF.
