Printer descriptor file (ppd) not found for printer quad error

greg brophy Member Profile All Messages By This Member #19320 Hi, ? I am trying to install a profile on an intel mac using qtr 2.8.2 for a p5000. The printer is already installed and has profiles on it already but when I try to install a new profile, I get this error "printer descriptor file (ppd) not found for printer quad". I tried reinstalling qtr but I still get the same error message. Any ideas as to why. ? Thanks, ? Greg

greg brophy Member Profile All Messages By This Member #19324 This is the name InstallP5000.command from the QTR/Profiles/Quad5000 folder/ do I have to change it to InstallP5000-greg.command or something else inbetween installP5000 and command? I have never had to do that before. ? Greg

Greg Hi Greg If this "QTR/Profiles/Quad5000 folder/" this is indeed your folder name, the problem is the space in the name -- change the space to _ or - No special characters are allowed in folder names, file names and curve names in general. The whole -greg is optional. The key is printer name and the install script have to match. So printer would be QuadP5000 and script InstallP5000.command -- note the "P" is part of the printer name. (btw - P5000 is now supported with its own name so the =4900 extra is unnecessary) Roy
