digital negative density range
Suppose I was building a uv transmission densitometer to use for measuring
digital negatives (I'm not). Specificially, digital negatives made with QTR
and 3rd party ink. What range of densities would

Re: DTP Carrier for Epson P-900
I'll Check that out, but in the interim I did finally find mat board of a known thickness so I was able to make a carrier that falls in the 1.27mm maximum thickness restriction.? I found the mat

Re: ink mismatch on QTR curves vs PPD files
Looks like my version of QCDN is out of date - I don't have the same menu items you do. I'm trying to update my version but every time I run the updater, it gets to the point of extracting the update

Re: ink mismatch on QTR curves vs PPD files
Scott,
For sure it supports the P900. See here.
I’ve done around 200 profiles with it and the P700//P900 and it works great. You can even migrate an 8-ink printer to a 10-ink printer in the ink

ink mismatch on QTR curves vs PPD files
I'm using QCDN to generate a starter curve for my PtPd negatives. I get the following error when I run the Install-P900 script:

You may have better luck using the workflow here:

x900_standard_blocking_test_v2 curve issues with Epson P5000 standard printer
Greetings:
I am attempting to create a linearized curve for DTP (polymer plate) output using Quadtone RIP and Qiadtone Profiler Quick Curve. When I output the stnandard blocking curve.tif via Print

Re: Printing Model and curve creation
I downloaded that file a few days ago, Jon, which is how I chose to use the 3880 profile. Thank you. I am going to muddle through and see if it all comes together.

Re: DTP Carrier for Epson P-900
I have had trouble with the P900, too. Cheap poster board that kids use can be a backing. Some people use wide painters tape, too, around the back edges to hold the plate. That has worked for me. I

In the files section I saved a paper on the work around I created for using
a 7900 with QTR and the windows GUI. Simply you just call your printer a
7880 and omit using orange and green.

Re: Printing Model and curve creation
There is no problem with 10 ink printers, with QuadToneRip; you just set ink limits in the plain txt file to 0 for those you don’t use. E.g. Or, at least, that’s what I did before I started using

Re: Printing Model and curve creation
That is interesting.
I was under the impression that the curve creation tool would not work with 10-ink printers.

Re: DTP Carrier for Epson P-900
Hi Robert,
I use a 2 ply mat board that is 13x19 that I buy from B&H photo. You can also change the platen using the epson media software. It comes with the printer.

Re: DTP Carrier for Epson P-900
Just use a bigger plate and forgo the carrier entirely. That is what I do. It takes some finesse to load but works great and no hangups . . .

Re: Printing Model and curve creation
Dear Chuck,
I spent an hr or so recently with the P5000/P6000/P7000/P8000/P9000 (Epson ink-set) and built some universal smoothed curves that are “screen-to-print” contrast matching (attached to
