Re: Setting up P900 for Direct to Plate methods using QTR
From what I can tell, platen gap isn¡¯t all that critical - the plates and carriers are well below that thickness - 1.1mm I think. I believe this is just there in case the media is curled slightly

Re: Setting up P900 for Direct to Plate methods using QTR
Clay, 2.6 seems to be the max platen gap setting the 5370. Any thoughts on how to approximate your P900 DTP settings with this platen gap limitation?

Re: Setting up P900 for Direct to Plate methods using QTR
Thanks Clay - really appreciate you sharing this info in an easy guide. Very useful! I don't have a P900 as yet, but I know it just around the corner! Silvi

Setting up P900 for Direct to Plate methods using QTR
Another PSA. I have wrestled with helping people set up their P900s for DTP use over the last couple of years. I think I have finally figured out a pretty solid workflow for getting this done. It has

Re: P800 - Only Black Inks Laying Down
Why do you think it is only laying down black inks? Do the negs look different from before? The color inks in the profile are minuscule and only there to make sure some ink is going down all the lines

Re: P800 - Only Black Inks Laying Down
Update: Thank you for all the suggestions. I've nuked, reinstalled, and checked permissions. All seems right to me. Alan, here is one of the quad files. This is a case of it worked fine before the

Re: P800 - Only Black Inks Laying Down
I agree that permissions is a likely suspect. By far the easiest and best way to repair permissions is to simply re-run the Install-QTR package. This automatically corrects all the permissions in

Re: P800 - Only Black Inks Laying Down
FWIW, when I run into stuff like this, I nuke (delete) all the .quad files for a particular printer in /Library/Printers/QTR/Quadtone and then do some spring cleaning in my installation folder to get

Re: P800 - Only Black Inks Laying Down
Hi Chris, That was a glimmer of hope, as that is something I would have overlooked for sure. But, all the quads are "write & read". Anything else? Uninstall again? ~DM

Re: P800 - Only Black Inks Laying Down
Are you at work now? Do me a favor and right click on the quad you were using and see if it reverted to read only. That happened to me, and the result was very dense black ink negatives as if

P800 - Only Black Inks Laying Down
Hello, Hoping for some insight/suggestions. This is in a school lab setting. Working with Print Tool and a P800 on a Mac Mini M1. IT forced another update, now to Sequioia 15.3.1. This resulted in

Re: Revisiting Carbon 6/7/8 in 2024
When I bought this 7880 for $100, it had been in storage for around a decade. Ink in the lines had evaporated. Still had the original OEM cartridges from 2010 in it. Original owner had run about 250

Well, at this point, I've cleaned and checked everything. I'm suspecting that that area in the print head may not be usable. All is not lost. I still have 7 channels and can use this machine to print

Re: Revisiting Carbon 6/7/8 in 2024
Jeff When I have seen this on Epson 3880, P800, P900, P5300, its usually not the lines nor the damper. Its usually dried crud ink that is floating around the capping station and the bottom of the
