Re: QnetIcomGateway
Dan,
Currently, I'm finishing up a very big project for QuadNet (almost done). My next thing in the queue is QnetIcomGateway, but I would really like to get the mega branch debugged first. There are a couple of task to complete: bring the mega dashboard up to the current standard of QnetGateway and then add IPv6. I'll also get Colby's assistance in adding a help file to explain how to use a better web server. The php mini-server is inappropriate for QnetIcomGateway for most owners. The default dashboard modules for the QnetIcomGateway are MO (show modules) and LH (show last heard). I don't see a big need for multiple dashboards. Ssh is the preferred way to remotely administer the system. Tom |
Re: QnetIcomGateway
Dan if you get the new beta version working and can make the dash "public" (I would suggest not putting the UR field in the public dash) And for Top and crew.. ON the repeater version. perhaps TWO dash boards One needing an admin log in in case he needs to do some UR field things. 开云体育Dan, ? You want the “mega” branch of QnetIcomGateway. Be warned, it has not been tested. This hast almost all of the new improvements to QnetGateway with the exception of IPv6 support and maybe a few others, but does contain the dash for sure. We don’t have a reliable way to test it, therefore, it remains untested until someone volunteers to try and discover any problems it might have. ? Colby ? ? Re: Interesting issue
The PI (The computer) Detects the Display at startup but that should not affect the qnetgateway software.. I know on my HamClock if the Display is not "live' before I boot no joy but that is a program that uses the display. Another Improvement I see In ITAP mode (Icom Terminal Access Point) I did NOT see my call under "Last heard"? ?I do now.? Shows up same as incomng only the "VIA" says "Module A" (in my case. Every time you push a new version I like it more :)? I have one more hard card of the proper brand and size. and one more hat and a couple spare Pi's I may set one up as a hotspot just for fun.? |
Re: new release
Well Colby that was indeed the problem and of course I messed it up but after several re-dos (just the dash install not the whole thing) working as designed .... Only problem after that was REF-030 was getting a tad tired of me re-linking so I went shopping (Forgot somethign else yesterday) and now it's all happy. Don't you just LOVE computers. 开云体育Thanks Tom,I will not order the DD module right now and go another route. I’m running an Icom stack with only a B module which is still in test mode. ?Let me know if that would meet your test needs. Jeff Jeffrey V. Bauer 6381 Mulberry Ln. Re: G3 and QNet?
that describes how to install gcc version 7 on Centos 7.
To get back to your original question, I don't see any reason why you can't do with QnetIcomGateway what you did with ircDDBGateway, that is, keep the registration part and install a new gateway. There is a very active branch on QnetIcomGateway called "mega" in which I am pushing all the latest developments from QnetGateway. Once I know that this branch actually works, I will merge it with master, but since I don't have access to an Icom stack, I have to wait until someone give me some feedback. I would be happy to schedule a real-time meeting where I could provide immediate updates based on problems encountered while using this branch. One think to investigate is how much support for sqlite3 there is on Centos. To answer another question in this thread, QnetIcomGateway does not support the 1.2GHz DD module. I would have to reverse-engineer ircDDBGateway to figure out how this module works, because I don't think KI4LKF left me with much development for this module. |
Re: G3 and QNet?
开云体育I decided not to run G3 because there was already another repeater in the area stuck on G3, with registration online. ?So I built mine up on a raspberry Pi 4 with QnetIcomGateway which has been working very well. ?Yes it looks like a dongle, but it gives us freedom to connect to any reflector system (REF, XRF,DCS, XLX), which the other repeater cannot do. ?The two repeaters compliment each other.?To access REF, the stations still need to be registered with the US Trust I believe, which I am. I am considering bringing a 1 G DD module online. ?Anything I need to know before attempting this? Many thanks Jeff Jeffrey V. Bauer 6381 Mulberry Ln. 开云体育I know of a person who left their G3 system online, but only in a web/registration capacity, and then used a pi with QnetIcomGateway to control the repeater. We do not support running it on any operating system other than Debian, which is an obvious issue as Icom has chosen CentOS as their operating system for their G2/G3 software, but it can be done as per the previous message references, for those who want to go through the work of ensuring the necessary libraries are installed. Its worth nothing those instructions are very old and likely not entirely accurate any longer, as some other dependencies have likely been added since that was written. ? Colby ? ?
