The Process for using DSTAR1 or DSTAR2 or even a call sign direct to say WA8YXM (me)
First Send the "U" for Unlink once you hear "Module is NOT linked" you can then put DSTAR1 or DSTAR2 (Or WA8YXM) in the YOUR field. save it, select it and Kerchunk. In the case of DSTAR1 or 2 you should hear "Not in Cache" kerchunk again and one of thoe you should SEE a subscription message.
I don't know what happens if you put in my call but I should get an alert and then I can reply to you direct by following more or less the same path (I put your call in differnetly)
If you put in DSTAR 1 or 2 also put in a 2nd Your Call memory with DSTAR1 T or DSTAR2 T
When you wish to log out of the smart group. Select that and Kerchunk Think "Terminate".

Can you do a simple E echo from your 51?
Also you don't need to specify the module callsign if it's the same as your ircddb login.
And you can't link to DSTAR2. That "Link at startup" is for a reflector or repeater only. You'll have to subscribe to DSTAR2 after qngateway is logged into rr.openquad.net.
If you want to use DMR and your pistar hot-spot at the same time as your DVAP hot-spot, you should disable ircDDBGateway on you pistar. You shouldn't have multiple hotspots logged into openquad.net using the same callsign and IP.? I think in the pistar expert menu, clear the field that has "rr.openquad.net".
