Yes, that's what I was thinking too.
Tom, if qnmodem won't start, you can't use qnadmin to look at the log. (It will only show logs of running programs.) So you'll have to get out of quadmin and look at the log the old fashioned way by:
sudo journalctl -u qnmodem
Then you can scroll down to the end and see what the problem is.
