Sticky Reminder: please edit your display name
Hi: This group is growing rapidly in the last couple of months. I would like to ask everybody to check their display name. This way, when you post a message, everybody knows who it is coming from instead of a difficult to decode default name in some cases. You will need to go to the QSO Party group: /g/QSOParty. You will also need to be logged in. From there, click Subscription in the upper left part of the page. Then click Group Profile near the top. Here, you can upload a picture for yourself, if you want to. Perhaps one of you ready to cross many county lines. Then click Edit Group Profile and scroll down and find Display name. Change that to your first name and call sign, for example. From there, an optional step is to click on Membership near the top of the page and set whatever options there you want. If you read messages from this group (or any groups.io group) on an email client such as Thunderbird, Apple mail, a Web-based interface provided by your ISP or whatever as long as it is not through groups.io, pay attention to the bottom line of the emails. If an email thread seems to have run its course and you do not want to see any more of those messages, click Mute This Topic. This will take you to groups.io where you will confirm your intention then (its magic!) no more messages on that topic to your email reader. You can still read them from groups.io. Happy QSO Partying! 73, Joe, AA8TA

Georgia QSO Party this Weekend
Just a friendly reminder that the Georgia QSO Party is this weekend. Here's a map that shows the counties that are being covered by the three main rovers - AD4EB, N4N and W4AN. If anyone boarding Georgia can help fill in some gaps it would be much appreciated. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=151adduHKBDYfpiVNBiagr38Kvmfuct8&usp=sharing Jeff KU8E

Georgia QSO Party is Next Weekend 4
The 2025 Georgia QSO Party is next weekend - April 12th -April 14th. See https://gaqsoparty.com/ for all the details. We have three rover stations that I know of so far - W4AN, AD4EB and N4N who will be covering a lot of Georgia counties. If anyone else is going to be a rover or a portable station please let me know and I can add your route to the webpage. Georgia has 159 counties which is only 2nd to Texas which has 254 counties. We really need some help activating many of the counties north and east of Atlanta. Also the far southeast counties in Georgia. Here is a map I put together showing the counties that are going to be activated by AD4EB (orange) and W4AN (blue) . https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=151adduHKBDYfpiVNBiagr38Kvmfuct8&ll=32.70950514106157%2C-83.222857&z=7 I don't have N4N's list yet but they traditionally activate counties east and southeast of Atlanta. If any of our QSO Party friends in the states boarding Georgia that have gone rovering (or operate portable) before any help would be greatly appreciated. I can guarantee you will have lots of fun with non-stop pileups as you change counties. I think we had over 600 logs received for last year. Thanks, Jeff KU8E Georgia QSO Party Director

Press Release: Welcome ACQP into the SQP Challenge
Below is a Press Release from the State QSO Party Challenge Group regarding the new Atlantic Canada QSO Party being accepted as an SQP Challenge contest for 2025 and beyond. I'm attaching a pdf version that you can share with your contesting contacts and groups. Thanks! Dave WN4AFP, SQP Challenge Director. PRESS RELEASE: New Atlantic Canada QSO Party Will Join the State QSO Party Challenge The State QSO Party Challenge is delighted to announce it will include a new regional QSO party, the Atlantic Canada QSO Party (ACQP), to bring the total number of QPs in the Challenge to forty-eight (48). The ACQP will be held for the first time on June 7, 2025 from 1200Z to 0200Z on June 8th, and will include the Canadian Atlantic provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The ACQP Organizing Committee has energetically pursued the involvement of amateurs in each of the target provinces, including home stations, some mobiles, POTA participants, lighthouse enthusiasts and World Wide Flora and Fauna activators. We anticipate the interest brought by including the ACQP in the State QSO Party Challenge will add to its success. There are now 48 QSO parties in the State QSO Party Challenge calendar and the related Worked All QSO Parties program. To participate in the SQP Challenge you must report your QSO party results on 3830scores.com after each QP, with at least two contacts. The WAQP requires that you submit both a log with two valid contacts to the state/province QSO party contest manager, and in addition a 3830scores.com submission, for each QP. More details, including rules and the five-letter abbreviations for provinces + divisions (counties) can be found on the ACQP website https://www.acqp.ca/. Information on how to participate in the State QSO Party Challenge is available at https://stateqsoparty.com/. QSO parties are great fun and for many are an introduction to, or an alternative to, contesting. Those without superstations can do very well in QSO parties with a little strategy and persistence. To contact the ACQP Organizing Committee, or to sponsor a plaque, please email atlcanqp@.... If you have a question or suggestion for the State QSO Party Challenge or WAQP please email info@.... 2025 Minnesota QSO Party Results 2
The 2025 Minnesota QSO Party results are now posted on the website www.w0aa.org/mn-qso-party/ via the drop-down menu. Mobile activity was down this year partially due to winter weather in the NW portion of that state and mobiles there wisely choosing to be safe. That left several counties not being activated resulting in only 63 of the 87 counties being worked by Jeff N8II and Dave WN4AFP. FQP update - N4FCG/m plus even more Mobiles, Expeditions, Fixed stations and 1x1 Bee Keepers!
Ahoy there, FQP Mateys! Just to bring everyone up to speed: After a 3rd back surgery last year I decided the K4OJ MM/m 2-4 station effort was just no longer feasible so our 10 year run has come to pass. But the mobile fun continues! Our single team has split into 3 mobile entries: a) Bob, N4BP and I will be operating N4FCG/m as a CW M/S (mostly Bob with me pinch hitting during stops). b) AJ NK4O has a driver and an SSB operator to run NK4O M/2 Mixed mobile - nice! c) Kevin N4KM and Chris W4WF are planning a M/S CW mobile as K4OJ/m - details to come. And of course our already numerous mobiles and expeditions from previous years will again be participating to test your operating/hunting skills. We're seeing a nice increase in the number of mobiles, expeditions as well as our growing Armada of fixed stations, so it should be exciting fun for all. Please consider coming down to operate from the Sunshine State as a Fixed, Mobile or Expedition too; it is truly thrilling to work so many of our out-of-state friends with all the bands now open. Bob and I did a road test one morning this week and had plenty of RBN spots on 40-10m all at the same time. Oh, and our 2025 FQP Spelling Bee will be announced soon too - pse QRX. Florida QSO Party 2
It's a bit early, but here is a tentative plan for AA4TI Expedition in the Florida QSO Party 2025 County line Hillsborough/Polk - 2+ hours at start of QP on Saturday County line Manatee/Hardee - 2+ hours during middle of day on Saturday County line Desoto/Sarasota - 2+ hours toward end of day on Saturday I lose about 1.5 +/- hours each time I change to a new county line. County line Lee/Hendry - 2+ hours at start of QP on Sunday County line Charlotte/Glades - 2+ hours during middle of day on Sunday Highlands County (single county, not on county line) - 1.5+ hours if time allows late day Sunday I will concentrate on CW again this year, but I am planning on spending quite a bit more time on SSB this year on 15 and 20 meters... especially in Polk/Hillsborough counties. I heard from several SQPers that Polk, Glades and Highland counties were not well represented on SSB so I hope to make that situation a bit better. I will also make trips up to 10 meters on both CW and SSB, but these forays will be limited so my followers will have to be vigilant. Please keep in mind that we cannot self spot, so if we are not on the air somewhere, we are probably in transit and are likely to show up unexpectedly on a new county line. Also, I plan on operating CW just above the Mobile windows and SSB just above the middle of the SSB window - all will be plus/minus QRM. I hope to publish more information as we get closer to the contest. Steve - AA4TI
