Re: Help Setting gain
I Insert this reply here because if you are having the problem I stated above, the rest of this thread is unnecessary, though it might be of interest for other reasons. ?The bottom line is the latest

Re: Help Setting gain
I shoots flats at low gain because my flats panel is quite bright and I want to use a shutter speed of at least 1 second. This is to avoid any unevenness of lighting across the frame due to the

Re: Help Setting gain
David,
I've been following this thread and haven't had much to offer since I'm using NINA.
I have been under the impression High Gain is for 1x1 bin flats lights and bias and Low Gain is for 2x2

Re: Help Setting gain
I don't think there is an issue with the QSI Ascom software. I'm using NINA
and, as already mentioned, clicking on the Settings button in NINA prior to
clicking on the Connect button, brings up the

Thanks, 7.6.2971.17
I think the QSI universal driver I have does not support dual gain cameras and hence it grays out the gain setting in setup.
It is frustrating that the minimum exposure in the

Re: Help Setting gain
Hi Bruce.
Which version QSI driver package have you installed?
The latest version available on the QSI support site or an older one from the CD that came with the camera, or something

Re: Help Setting gain
I'm coming into this late, so I may be off target, but in Nebulosity for the
683 your choices are 0 (low gain) and 1 (high gain). I've never used my 683
with ASCOM or anything else. It works great

Re: Help Setting gain
Hi Bruce.
To change the QSI 683 camera gain in MaxIm depends on the driver method that you are using to connect to the camera, plus there are differences in the appearance of the driver setup menus

Help Setting gain
My QSI 532 died, and I replaced it with a used 632. ?The latter has a variable gain that defaults to "high". ?I need to change this to Auto. ?The manual says this has to be changed in the driver

Re: QSI 532 ws loose shutter capstan
Phillip,
Don't know if this will help but I have both a 583 and a 683. They are
exactly the same except that the 683 has a much higher speed read. That
implies the USB interface in the camera is

Re: QSI683 Overscan region
Hello again, I can't tell you so much technicality. I can only refer you as
a mere amateur to the website of my astrophotographs indicated in the sales
link. This camera is a gem of a sensor.

An extended area, that does not get light but still usable for better
