Re: XGGold CPU load
What MIDI interface are you using?
If USB-MIDI the drivers are installed only when plugged into a USB port, unlike MPU401 where the drivers are installed with the card.

Re: XGGold CPU load
Well, I think there is some problem within the program: Tried an old PC, 1 core, Windows XP. The CPU-load goes to 100%, when a MIDI-Connection is established. Even in 1998 this would not be normal.

Re: XGGold CPU load
As the splash screen says, Herr Stulgies wrote this program in 1998-2000,? long before the advent of multi-core/multi-threaded x86 CPU's. I get results similar to yours when I play back .MID files on

XGGold CPU load
Hello,

Conversion of Help files
For those wondering how I did it, I converted all the old .hlp files - both those in the Files section and those supplied with XG-Gold - to .chm (Compiled HTML Help file) format via a program called

Re: Floppy disk emulator? Anyone a Gotek expert?
Got it working. Stripped it down and had actually bent a pin on the floppy cable connector....explains it all.

Re: Floppy disk emulator? Anyone a Gotek expert?
If you look on gotekemulator.com/Download.asp ( http://www.gotekemulator.com/Download.asp ) , there are a number of programs some of which may be able to pre-format the USB partitions in 2HD format.?

Re: Floppy disk emulator? Anyone a Gotek expert?
The Gotek emulates a 2HD floppy yet the self-format gives you 2DD. If that's not the problem then I am out of answers. It may be worth posing this question to the forums at yamahamusicians.com (

Re: Floppy disk emulator? Anyone a Gotek expert?
I found the "Illegal format disk" error on page 207 of the QS300 Owner's Manual (QS300E1.pdf in the Files section). and Page 202 says that the QS300 will accept disks of either 2DD (720 KB) or 2HD
