While I can't claim to be a new ham, or a new Digital user, I am always eager to learn. Thanks for taking on the task of starting this group. About me, WV5Q, ham for 46 years, Section Traffic Manager for MS, and Digital Liaison for Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi. For most of my digital work I use a TS-480HX running Winlink or Airmail 3.0, or a Yaesu FT-710 AESS running the FLDIGI software. I was on the NTS 2.0 ARRL Digital Team and produced the forms that can be used to send ICS-213 type forms by voice for those who don't have the digital capability to send that type of emergency traffic.

My name is Wayne and I am the operator of W3HIZ, Baltimore MD. My main set up is an Icom 7300 and a doublet antenna. I use Winlink VARA and have a Renogy solar panel with a Renogy battery power supply. I was wondering if I need a charge controller between them, your thoughts welcome!
