Subject: Ransomware Attack on Parallax Last Week
Dear Community,?

Last week, Parallax experienced a ransomware attack that encrypted data on our internal server, impacting our workstations, phones, and VPN connections. We immediately focused on understanding the depth of the attack with the help of our network administrators and security team.

Some internal data may have been compromised and potentially copied externally, including product files and certain customer information we routinely export from our business software for marketing. However, there is no evidence that customer data stored in our business software was accessed, as it resides in a separate network segment. We do not store credit card information on any Parallax servers; all web transactions are handled by a trusted third party. Additionally, we do not collect data from our student end-users through any of our software tools.

Currently, we are rebuilding our server infrastructure and networked computers with our IT and security contractors. Although we are operational, we anticipate ongoing intensive efforts through July. Rest assured, I have been closely involved in implementing our new system with the latest software and security protocols.

This disruption has been costly for our small business and I appreciate your support as we bring Parallax back to full productivity.?I welcome any questions or concerns you may have and will monitor my e-mail and phone should you wish to reach me.
