QSX Stuck in Firmware Update Mode
When I power up my QDX, it's in Firmware Update mode. (LED flashing ~5Hz). The QDX drive appears on my Mac, but no files appear in the folder. I then drag the 1_05.QDX file to the folder and EEPROM.QDX suddenly appears as well. The LED starts flashing more rapidly, suggesting the firmware update is underway. After a bit, the LED turns solid red and the QDX seems to work.
However, when I then turn the QDX off and back on, it re-enters firmware-update mode. Powering off/on again and it's still in update mode. So the only way I can get out of update mode is to go through the update procedure each time I power up. QDX pcb rev 4.? |
Maybe the device never got the initial load of the firmware from the "factory".? Stuff happens. -- Mitch, AB4MW

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDefinitely low. Something basic is not right. I would send a support request to Hans via the website.73,

Sounds like the CPU memory isn¡¯t surviving a power cycle, probably not something Hans tests for, as it should be pretty unlikely. I think this is the second one I¡¯ve heard of on this list.
