OK behold ye wondrous?1_00_023 at ?

which fixes this bug found by Peter... so please ignore 1_00_022 and use 1_00_023 instead. No change to the operating manual...?

Hello Peter

Yes you're right. Man. I spent hours testing all the things I could think of. Right. Well I see that the SWR and GPS tools when run on the device itself, do lock up. I will fix that promptly now.?

Hi Hans,
There is something wrong with? "Locked by terminal app". I tried to go into tune mode. Since then my device is locked without any terminal attached.
So far, it's not usable. I'll post more details, when I have the time to experiment.

It works :-) thank you!

500 kHz BW sounds great on daytime 40m. Worked 3 POTA stations using the new firmware...

Thank you Hans. Fantastic, the CW filters and options for lower side-tone.
The day is not far off when the QMX will become my only rig!

Hans,

I just updated to 1_00_021 last night, can I remove the old firmware i.e. 1_00_017 before I copy over the new firmware?

Hi Joe

Not the way it works... QMX only pretends to be a USB flash drive. It's extremely minimal. Bootloader, USB stack, FAT16 file system, 256-bit encryption, I2C EEPROM and the Flash programming logic all fit inside 16K. The only thing it can do is accept a new firmware file you copy in, decrypt it and Install it in application Flash memory. (Likewise for EEPROM , and in reverse for copying out). It can't contain multiple versions for the firmware. So you just copy in the new firmware file and it'll automatically delete the old firmware and write in the new one.?

Hi Hans,
?
Instead of "Shut Down!", is it possible to change it to "Shut Down?", then use "select" to confirm and "exit" to cancel. It happened quite often that I meant to change mode/band, but end up shutdown my QMX.
?
Thanks!

Hans,

Excellent, such a unique way of updating! Thanks and 73?

Hans,

We're ready for SSB.??

Did this issue affect the QMX+ as well? I must not understand the problem HiHi.

Hi George

Which issue are you referring to? It isn't clear from the messages, who you are replying to...??

If the question is about the issue with 1_00_022, SWR and GPS tools didn't run on the QMX (though were OK on the terminal login)... this affects QMX and QMX+. Almost always, everything that affects QMX will affect QMX+ because they are 98% the same. Anyway I fixed it very quickly in 1_00_023.?

Or is it a different issue??

I added it to my list...

Hi Hans,
I am replying to you. I didn't see any problem with the tools. Now the next move I will make is just install the new firmware, and look around. If there was a detail revision list I will look at it. Was there a link posted?
Understand I personally find the forum a bit frenetic so just please start a new topic with every firmware release and add a link. At your typing speed that should take two minutes!
Thank you in advance
George?

Hans,
The link is there, but I would like something like this.
" If you go to LCD menu item xxxx
You will see an error message.
The software fix in the new Firmware, fixes that bug and nothing? else,"?
That way I can ignore all other replies. Somehow for instance, there
was a reply about CW filter widths.
Like, stupid me, I assumed you did that as well.

Is it normal for the QMX to not have the screen come back after a firmware upgrade?
?
Mine takes the update, seemingly reboots, but the screen stays off, and it won't take the shutdown command.?
?
I have to pull power to get it to come back. Have others experienced this?
?
Greg, N1TR?

Have seen that as well on two occasions.

Yes has happened to me a few times. From memory v019 did it all the time for me.?

Tuning the VFO on 60m Band is broken with 1.00.23, at least on my midband QMX here. All other bands are fine, but on 60m the QRG will jump in erratic steps between 5.4Mhz and 4MHz and I can go down to 3.x MHz (and maybe even farther, haven't tried due to the lack of a 10 or even 100kHz step size).
?
Seems to be related to band limits. ITU2 in my case. When I enable the RX offband setting, I can tune as before on 60m but now there is a letter B being displayed next to the QRG for the whole range of the 60m band except for some magic QRGs: 5.332MHz and 5.348MHz and 5.373MHz and 5.405MHz
?
This can be worked around by setting the band limit to None.
