QDX & FLDIGI Setup #qdx

Hello, I'm new to this forum and need help with the QDX tranceiver from QRP Labs

I have just assembled one and would like to run it together with FLDIGI on a Raspberry Pi 4.

Assembly was easy thanks to the perfect instructions, tnx.

This is how I successfully commissioned my newly built QDX with FT8.

I can also carry out the configuration perfectly with PUTTY.

But unfortunately, my QDX Version V3 doesn't work with FLDIGI.

I don't see a waterfall, and there is no power output at Tune.

The CAT works, also the PTT.

Has anyone of you successfully commissioned the QDX with FLDIGI?

If so, I'd appreciate an answer and some hints on the setup.

Good morning (here.)? I do have my QDX functioning with FLDIGI just fine.

First, the sound since that seems to be where you have a problem:
Configuration
? ? -Soundcard
? ? ? ? -Devices
? ? ? ? ? ? Check "PortAudio"
? ? ? ? ? ? Both Capture and Playback should be "QDX Transceiver" which is also "USB Audio (hw:0,0)" on my system.? Click "save"

Then for CAT Control you can either use FLRIG or use Hamlib so you don't need FLRIG open.? I chose Hamlib this go-round.? But since you have CAT and PTT I'll leave that alone.

If you set up your soundcard correctly in FLDIGI and still don't have a waterfall, try adjusting your waterfall gain.? On the bottom left of the screen, the first number is the upper signal level and the second is the range.? Try increasing the range and decreasing the upper signal level.? Then make sure the bottom right number is set fairly high (or maximum.)? That is your TX gain.

Good evening Jshua,
Thank you for your answer, that helped me a bit. I adjusted the TX and RX gain on the bottom left of the screen.
So now the TX signal works, I can also see the Rx signal in the waterfall, but only weakly.
I have to feed it with an HF signal from the S9+ so that it looks normal and also decodes it.
As already mentioned, FT8 works perfectly.
So I think it's due to the level setting in the mic input of the Raspberry pi/FLDigi software.

I use KMix as control software, here the volume is set to 100%.
I'll probably have to install another software with which I can also make microphone amplification.

What do you think about?
Thanks in advance for your answer.

Check the manual for terminal-mode setup commands, pretty sure there's a gain control for audio out.

I replied privately before I realized hans-peter posted here as well.? It echos what Willie said.? As follows:?
Hans-Peter, if you take a look at the operation manual on page 17, section 4.4, you will see that there is an "audio gain" number.? I have mine turned up to maximum.? Give that a try.? Default is 5000, mine is set at 99999.? That should give you stronger signals for FLDIGI.? At that setting, JS8CALL still works fine for me as well.

Dear Joshua KJ7VLZ and Williams N1JBM,

?

Thanks for pointing this out, I have now set the default 99999, now it works perfectly, just as I imagined.

I practiced for a long time before I was able to change the numbers, but the manual says that you can do this with the back space button, hi.

So, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for your help, you did a great job.

I will use this QDX as a CW I-gate.

?

I wish you both all the best and continued success.
