Putty

Dave

Can someone please help me step up Putty to talk to my ProgRock2
I got the screen and port selected but cannot type or connect to the progrock...
Thanks Dave

Does your computer recognize Progrock when plugged in with usb cable. I was working on a different kit but had a communication problem on the usb connector on the kit causing issue. Once i fixed that connection issue computer recognized it and I was able to connect via putty.

Ok, then look if this is windows look in the device manager then ports and see if port is found and see what port device manager assigned it. Then go to putty and make sure the port in putty matches the one in device detected in ports section of device manager. If you do not see a port detected for the progrock try either another usb port on computer if available and/or another usb cable. I noticed reading on the progrock 2 Hans states no need to get a driver for win10 or 11 already there. Only if an earlier version of windows then need a driver. And if this is something else other than windows then I do not have knowledge on other OS.

Sometimes Windows requires you to turn power off on the rig then plug in the USB cable to the computer. Then power up the rig and it will find it. I've seen that almost every time with the QMX. QDX only sometimes so I'm not sure why they act differently, sometimes.

Thanks to everyone?for your input
Here was the problem:
The Progrock2? didn't like every cable I used, finally found one that fit well
Putty was never the issue!
The initial problem is that NONE of my computers would find the progrock2
I then got 2 more and plugged them in EUREKA, they both worked perfectly.
My problem has been all along... A defective Progrock2 !!!
SO I'm sending it back for repair or replacement.
Again thanks for all your help.
