BS170 Sources

Does anyone have a good source for replacement BS170 MOSFETs at a reasonable price?? They appear to be one of the items that are being classified as unobtainium these days.

Joshua

Thank you, guys. I purchased through Jameco and ordered a few other things I had been putting off so I didn't have to pay their small order fee.

that's what order fees are for, mainly the small but itchy ones... ;-)

Kits and Parts dot Com has them as well.

Thanks for the tip on Tayda!? I've added another "stuff" source to my list.? And about $50 worth of everything on my first order.? 2N3904 for 2 cents each.? Hard to beat.

I believe that members of GQRP have access to the GQRP Componant shop, where
they have BS170.
Membership is iirc ?8 per year for UK and pro-rata elsewhere. For that you
also receive the SPRAT magaine which is construction based and published
quarterly. hth

Mouser USA is reporting 68,000 BS170 (through hole TO92) and still in stock:

BS170
68,000 in stock

BS170D75Z
22,000 in stock

BS170-D26Z
46,000 in stock

BS170D27Z
19,000 in stock

BS170_D74Z???
30,000 in stock

I bought a few from them a couple months ago. There are no 10? and 11? ones in the list any more but but they are 40? down around 22? in lots of 100 but they do have stock.

Good luck.

Mouser is currently out-of-stock on all BS170.? What you're seeing is the amount on order from the OEM and the expected stock date.??

Apart from simple switching semiconductors, I only trust large distributors who can account for the original source and chain of custody from the time of manufacture to the time of stocking the device.? There are way too many fake-branded semiconductors being produced, mostly from Asia with essentially no quality control over critical noise and gain specs.? Concerning Tayda, does anyone know how they select their semiconductors???

Hans still shows them on his website.? Maybe he will comment here on stock level or you can send him an email via the support address.

None of the larger supply houses in the US have stock and have long lead times.? They are expecting new stock next year.....

Remember that you can substitute BS270 for them and they work just fine and are in stock.
