¿ªÔÆÌåÓýPlease do consider putting your files on Thingiverse or making them available in some way.? It would be a great service to QCX owners. 72,Michael? KD4SGN On 11/21/2017 11:35 AM, Kent

Lovely, simple design!? I also would very interested in printing one myself, if you have any desire to share your work on Thingiverse.? Good work!!! |
Thanks for the kind comments.? This is my first major design project so go gently :-)?
? I've put the work so far on thingiverse at??if you are interested in customising to your own needs.? I don't think my prints are at commercial quality yet but there are many places that will print a copy for you given the files on thingiverse. 72/73, Dave, G8XUL? |

You have created exactly what I was thinking? about doing with mine! Thanks so much for sharing. Dave,
First I would like to thank you for posting the link to your files. As I wrote earlier, I don't know much of anything about 3D printing. I have built some things in Fusion 360 and used a small mill to cut them out but that's 2D and it has nothing to do with extruding plastic. I have some questions: (1) Are all of the files listed required to make the case (guessing the answer is yes) (2) Do you have a 3D printer recommendation? (3) How long did it take you to print the case components? I probably have more questions but 3D printing is kind of off topic for this group so I'll stop here 73 NE5U Mike |

Hi Mike, Thanks for the feedback.? To answer your questions..... (1) Are all of the files listed required to make the case (guessing the answer is yes)? Yes, all the parts are on Thingiverse (2) Do you have a 3D printer recommendation?? I only have experience of the Anet A8.? This seems to me an ideal introduction to 3D printing for a very modest (?110 ish) outlay. (3) How long did it take you to print the case components?? It depends on how fast you print.? At a low speed (=better quality) of 30mm / sec it took a total of about 12 hours for all the bits. Take a look at the forums on Thingiverse for excellent help and support on all 3D modelling / printing issues. 73, Dave On Tuesday, 21 November 2017, 18:14, Michael Lloyd <mikell@...> wrote: Dave, First I would like to thank you for posting the link to your files. That's the same one I have. A couple of upgrades I made and I highly reccomed if you haven't made them are the all metal micro swiss hot end and a piece of borosilicate glass for the print bed. I also HIGHLY recommend Makergeeks filament.? Chauncey Baker KD5JBK EM15hl Cleveland County Oklahoma SKCC#17411 On Nov 23, 2017 10:35 AM, "Kent Vanderploeg" <kvanderploeg@...> wrote: Will do!? I have a Maker Select V2 waiting.? I'm sure I'll have a bit of a learning curve and time into dialing in the proper print settings.? Thank you again! |
