Hi All
Quick reminder that its our second QCX QSO party tomorrow (25th March) three one hour sessions, 1300z, 1900z as last time and a 0300z sessions at the request of some US QCX enthusiasts.? Rules etc here:
https://www.qrp-labs.com/party.html
But don't bother too much about the rules, its supposed to be a fun activity time to get on the air with (or without) a QCX and make some contacts.? I'll be on for at least some of the 1300 and 1900 sessions so hope to work some of you then.
We are now listed on the WA7BNM contest calendar and should be able to post our qso numbers on the 3830 scores site.
Catch you all tomorrow!

Well, this did not quite match the stellar performance of the first QCX party, but I made one qso (non-QCX) about 0950Z 25/3/19 to New Mexico, 1771 miles.? Much QSB and static noise.? Great fun! ? 73, Tony N0BPA ? ?

Something is a little wrong somewhere... current time is 25-Mar-2019 0412Z so you made a QSO in the future... also QSO hours are at 1300Z, 1900Z and 0300Z.?
I was going to email anyway, as clarification: 0300Z means 26-Mar-2019 0300Z. So it is Monday evening in US (not Sunday evening). At least... I *think* this is what we decided last time. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Tony
You wrote the QSO time was 0950... which is in the future, regardless... I guess a typo, you really meant 0350.?
The QSO party times agreed, were:
25-Mar-2019 1300-1400Z 25-Mar-2019 1900-2000Z 26-Mar-2019 0300-0400Z
So that the last session, 0300-0400Z falls on Monday local time in US. Then all three slots fall on Monday in the most likely timezones they will be used.
A bit confusing I know... I will clarify it on the page also.?

Are there suggested frequencies??
|
Hi Steve
From?
Frequencies: nominally around the QRP centres of activity (14.060, 7.030, 3.560 respectively) but please spread out and use spotting aids (see below) to see where people are. QSOs anywhere on the band can be counted. Don’t cluster at the centre of activity! Use the VFO, someone will spot you and call you. If you are searching use the VFO and very slowly tune up and down listening for weak signals.

Well I tried very hard in the 1300z slot on 20m and saw quite a few stations spotted, but not many heard here. Only 1 QSO with DL6UNF. Maybe 20m is not the best QRP band with current condx. Running QCX and vertical. Hope others did better.

I did not think I'd be heard using QRP at 1300-1400, so called CQ QCX several times with 100 watts, got a lot of ?strong RBN spots from west coast USA, and a few non-QCX contacts. Wonder if anyone heard me and tried to reply. I thought i heard one extremely faint call but it could have been ringing. ?JS6TMW?

Since 3830 is not yet up: 4 QSOs here as well on 40m, one with QCX (G4GIR), if I copied correctly. Very strong QSB for all QSOs, from R2 to R5 up and down. Anyway, was fun – have to unmount my antenna now. 73, Jens DG2FDD

A bit quiet, tried 20 and 40, finally got Jens on 40.
1 QSO DG2FDD 449 Bad QSB Jens Bremen QCX (I think)!

Difficult conditions here too.? Nothing at all on 20 and I got very few RBN spots.? Managed one QSO on 40m with Carel, PA0CMU also using a QCX.
Always fun, I'll try again at 1900.

Unfortunately, the 383scores is not QCX yet.

I made 5 qso's in the 1300z slot on 40m with: OK1WSL (5W / no-QCX), F5JKK, DL1LQR, IK1HZV and GM0EUL (all QCX users). Nice! Let's wait for 1900z now.
