Faulty Progrock2 - no response to ticket #progrock2

I hope I can get the attention of Hans through this group.

I raised a ticket (No. 5122) over three months ago regarding a faulty Progrock2. I have not had any response to that ticket. I have updated the ticket with additional information and also tried emails - all to no avail.

I have a number of potential applications for Progrock, but I need to get a working one first!

Peter

Last week, I purchased 2? ProgRock2 kits, and I had the following results:? the first never worked, on the second I managed to set 2 frequencies that worked correctly,? but I had to power? the kit at 3.3 volts without using its voltage regulator that did not give output voltage. However, since I was getting the correct frequencies, I wanted to try inserting two new frequencies, with the result that everything stopped and nothing worked anymore. Too bad because it would be an interesting project, but that seems very problematic to me at the moment

I have used numerous ProgRock2's without any problems -- I install them in old receivers and transmitters to replace faulty/drifted crystal-based heterodyne oscillators.? What are you trying to do and what went wrong?? Possibly I can help.

Thanks, but now the PC no longer opens the Progrock programming page, probably because the pic has broken down and is therefore no longer usable.

Hi

Can not reach ProgRock2?

Try turning down bluetooth first

sometimes it create conflicts on com ports

Thanks, but the problem is almost certainly caused by the STM32 which no longer communicates with the computer. All I have left is the recovery of the si5351 and the TCXO

Steve,

My Progrock2 initially ran very hot. I was able to connect via PC to the microUSB port and set the frequency, but at high frequencies (above 135MHz) the output becomes unstable/noisy and gives no output from 150MHz upwards.

Peter

Peter,

How were you powering the ProgRock2?? What sort of voltage source, voltage level, and connection method?

73 - Steve, KW4H

Hi Steve - it was just powered from the PC via the USB port.

Peter

Peter -- in that case, and assuming that the ProgRock2 hadn't been connected to anything else either simultaneously or previously, and assuming that there was nothing wrong with the USB port or the cable (unlikely, of course), then there is little doubt that the ProgRock2 is defective.? I do think it's a rarity -- I've worked with a number of these and have a stock of at least 10 of them and haven't experienced any issues.? Other than submitting a ticket (which you have done already), or finding some other way of reaching Hans, I'm not sure what else you can do.? You could try opening another ticket?

73 - Steve, KW4H

Hi Steve,

I suppose I could do that. I did update the ticket with more info at one point and have tried emails but not a single response to any of those.

Peter

Peter,

Try this:? log into your account at the QRP Labs shop, look up the order that was placed and click the "return" button to request an RMA.? In the explanation, include the ticket number and explain that the ProgRock2 is defective.? Maybe an RMA request will draw the attention you need.
