QMX FW 17 and side tone clicks

Many thanks for the nice new Firmware with AGC and S-meter Hans!
All good, but would it be possible to make the side tone "smoother" at end?
(Sorry, don't know how to desrcibe it in one word)

After each dot or dah you hear a kind of clicking noise. Could this be eliminated??
Maybe I am picky and the only one with this issue, but when you do a lot of CW its kind of annoying.

Anyway my Kudos for #17!

I’ve noticed the same clicks on my side tone as well.

I have the same issue. Managed to make it ok-ish with the settings, but if you want lower volume of the CW tone you end up with clicks or total fading of the tones.
My settings right now are:?
Semi QSK ON
Side tone volume 60
Sidetone abs/rel - Relative
With this settings the clicks are almost non present.
You can try restart after setting as it seems to me that it does not change right away.

Are these clicks on the sidetone only or do they happen on the transmitted signal?

Hello Chris,

The clicks affect the sidetone only, as far as I can tell. I checked it against my IC7300 and the CW signal appears to be very nicely formed and clean (I connected the QMX to my doublet, and the IC7300 to a half-meter coax patch).

I too am hearing these sidetone clicks in my earphones as I send. I noticed they go away if I raise the sidetone to an uncomfortable level but return when I turn the sidetone level back down.

I can confirm this observation.?However, this does not seem to apply to the interference that occurs when nearby stations are transmitting at the same time.

I'm not clear on what Simon is saying.? In my case, I have the clicks all the time, but they are much worse if there are are other signals in the receive passband.

I have clicks all the time to the point that the QMX is not usable for cw, I did role back to rev 10 as suggested in one of the treads and seemed to be better. works well FT8.
