Ultimate kit problem
I put my kit together today, programmed the chip and although it worked correctly in QRSS3 mode I was not able to get the freq above 10139900.
The supply voltage is 5.02V and the output is 6.5V peak

Re: WSPR success
I agree Tony...
I think the crystal cost will be a sound investment given the extra activity on 20 at the moment.....
On my new 40 meter kit I got the other day, I have fitted a socket in the crystal

Re: WSPR success
I'd say it isn't too big a hit considering what you would be getting.
Additional Ultimate QRSS kit - ?16.00
20m meter WSPR Xtal ? 22.78
Shared GPS Engine ?0000 for this

Re: WSPR success
I will have a word with the guy who got me the 10.140 crystals to see if he can help out. However I had to order 1,000 of those and wait four months. We did, however, get a very good price. I am not

Re: WSPR success
Thanks for the info Philip. If you can get a bunch of crystals for about
twenty quid, I'll buy one off you if it is available. It would be easy to
get the beacon onto 20 metres if we had the crystals

Yes, I leave it trickle charging all the time...
Not sure if that's the correct thing to do but the panel/battery combo
must be over six years old now and still going strong...
Anyhoo, you've

Re: WSPR success
Phillip,
Thanks for the info. I ordered a few of those voltage regs for some
experimental work. At the moment I am taking a break from re-programming
the 220 or so AVRs with the latest upgrade.

That's a good idea to use the adjustable DC/DC converter and voltage
regulator Philip. I just ordered two of those. At the price, why not have a
pair of them. I will surely need the spare one at some

Re: GPS without 1 pps output for the Multi-mode QRSS Beacon kit
Hi Hans
I have ver 1.0 software and have already had to put a jumper between pins 14 and 16 to make it work.
I tried to connect the RS232 and 1 PPS pins together when the GPS was on, but it changed

OK. I've seen that, but never had, nor heard of a problem with it until

Re: GPS without 1 pps output for the Multi-mode QRSS Beacon kit
Sverre
1) You cannot use a GPS without a 1pps. The kit REQUIRES the 1pps signal.
Yes, it is waiting for it (the 1pps signal).
2) the cosmetic bug with the baudrate setting needing to scroll through

Re: Corrupt LCD displays

It can happen when people switch off their power supply, as the voltage
decays to zero. It appears that if the voltage goes down too slowly the
firmware could corrupt the EEPROM configuration
