Re: QMX & QMX + Output temps?? Hans?
Richard, I don't have any specific temperatures to recommend. Junction temperatures for the BS170s will certainly be higher than case temperatures. Probably much higher. 150 C is probably the highest

Re: Your QMX output experiences @12volts...?..and by the way, what an amazing radio.
I understand qmx is more complex than the qcx, and ability to do ft8 wspr etc can stress the transmitter and possibly also the dc/DC. I would be interested in operating wspr on 160 and 80 meters,

Re: Your QMX output experiences @12volts...?..and by the way, what an amazing radio.
I do not believe QMX finals are nearly as fragile as they are reputed to be.? I have not blown any in my QMX+ nor the two QMXs that I own.? And if you are only operating CW, 12.0V is a good

QMX & QMX + Output temps?? Hans?
last I saw there was a note to monitor output transistor temps when using WSPR mode. ?Understandable. ?What is the range of allowable temps? ?Exactly where would one measure this with an IR

Stan, that's perfect, thank you!
I've got a Low band QDX I want to build up, but I'm going to customize it/tweak it a bit, and I'm planning to use the QMX+ BPF values for some bands.? I was trying to

Re: Your QMX output experiences @12volts...?..and by the way, what an amazing radio.
Hi,
I am putting in right here with my enquirer about QMX being hypersensitive to supply voltages over 12.00000000000000. That QMX does things I would like to.. except for frying finals so easily. I

Re: QMX+ Toroids - To Glue or Not To Glue?
It's probably not necessary on QMX+
I have done it frequently with the old U3S etc plug-in bandpass /low pass filters as these do get quite a lot of handling during active use.? ? Several breakages

Anyone willing to share an LTSPICE model of the filters or RF section of

Re: QMX+ Toroids - To Glue or Not To Glue?
Hot glue is pain to remove if needed.
Instead use B6000 or 7000 glue, holds just right not toxic to components, and easy to remove with just a small swipe of alcohole.
Do not use silicone since it

Is it mentioned in the manual?
Just do the scans, if they are something like correct you may just leave them.
