Re: Q: Thermal properties of T1 on QDX
Jim Not all have this issue. I have QDX v1 built for 12V and running FW 1.04. The 5V regulator was chgd to 7805 When I run this closed case I detect some warming. ie: WSPR, 30M, 5.5W, SWR1.2:1 At the

*If* I remember correctly from reading on the official Pi forum, that retailers / RPF are supposed also enforcing a 1 unit per address too. So maybe it's worth enrolling your friends / sisters (think

Re: No spots on wsrnet.org.
Probably the best WSPR appliance from QRP Labs is the U3S. It very modular in its approach. *The best part is it's VERY forgiving of load matching problems!* The Si5351 synth. module can fit the TCXO

Re: Q: Thermal properties of T1 on QDX
Hi Alan You never know. I compared the size of the T1 core to the size of the input transformer cores on a few old CB (11 meter) amps I have, which nominally take 5 watts. T1 is substantially smaller.

Re: No spots on wsrnet.org.
I run a QCX on 40m. It was one of your early batches bought at the covention.? I never checked the drift, but I get? lots of spots. QCX modified after PA went US. I fitted zener diode, about 37V

Re: Allowable input voltage for QCX+
Voltage drop rule of thumb(s): * Si: 0.6 to 0.7 * Schottky: 0.4V * Ge: 0.3 V * MOSFET: 0.3 V? For QRPLabs products, err on the conservative with a 1N540x (3A Si rectifier) or three in series with Vcc,

Q: Thermal properties of T1 on QDX
Hi all A couple of recent posts suggested that T1 got really hot, and it was a contributor to a lot of the heat issues in the QDX. Is this true, or did I misread it? 73 Jim N6OTQ

Wayne, it is very easy to lift the tiny traces between the crystal and IC1 when pulling crystals ... even when pulling one lead at a time. Be very careful with that part of the procedure. I lifted one
