Do you have the Quadra with the extra RAM? The one I found had 256M but the Plus
version had more memory. I'm doing something similar with an Orange Pi Zero 2W
(a mouthful!). This has 1G and an SD card. They use log2ram which I hope helps.
I don't have the QDX finished (or the antenna up) so it will be a while before
I test it. I'm up to the toroids, messed up the binocular (made the first wire
2 instead of 3). I fixed it and had enough to build L14 Will solder those in
tonight.

Cliff had it right: "Ctrl-A q" is required on Macs. Strange, but it works!

Re: QSX Stuck in Firmware Update Mode

Just a guess, but maybe there's a momentary loss of power such as noisy/dirty switch contacts that causes QDX to enter F/W upgrade mode? Try connecting everything but plug PS into wall socket last?

Is the QDX power socket solidly soldered on the PC board?

Hope it helps!

Re: QDX sound card question

Turns the QDX into a nice CW rx machine with the adjustable audio filter.? Sweet!

Re: QSX Stuck in Firmware Update Mode

Maybe the device never got the initial load of the firmware from the "factory".? Stuff happens.

Fldigi has an audio monitor function designed exactly for listening to the incoming signal and even the output signal if you wish.

Set it up in the fldigi config/soundcard/Device page by enabling it after you have selected the sound output device that you want to listen on, NOT the QDX sound card.

Then go to the fldigi menu and select View/Rx Audio Dialog and the monitor window will popup. Set the settings you wish there.

Making some progress. Connecting the QDX to the iMac creates a new devices /dev/cu.usbmodem1444201. WSJT-X doesn't see this device. But flrig does see it. When I configure flrig for the QSX, then WSJT-X does offer flrig as an option. Still nothing being received. So I decided to checkout the QDX terminal interface. I can telnet into?cu.usbmodem1444201 and I do see the QDX 1.05 menu, etc. Strangely, I can navigate the telnet interface but once I select an option from the menu, I can't go back ctrl-Q is supposed to Quit but it doesn't.

I *should* be able to get WSJT-X to recognize the serial device, but in the meantime I'll keep experimenting with flrig to see if I can get it to show some received signals, etc.

Ctrl-Q and ctrl-S were used to control flow over RS-232 links. It may be they're getting swallowed for that purpose on the Mac. There's probably a switch to tell PuTTY to tell the OS to ignore flow control...

Seed Studios reTerminal:

?

It's a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB EMMC storage.? Has a small screen (3.5x5 in.), two USB's, RJ-45 Ethernet, WiFi and an HDMI port.? Add to that the 40-pin RPi header and it's quite a neat little box.? Runs RPi OS flawlessly and I can VNC into it for a full 1080x720 screen if needed.? For direct use a capacitive touch stylus would be recommended.

And it is in stock!

Same here.

I have setup a Inovato Quadra for fun with fldigi and flrig. I don't need it any more so it's looking for a good home. If anyone is interested please contact me via my QRZ email.

Re: What PC are You using for QDX?

Yeah, Pi4 works well if you can get one. A little sluggish running WSJT, flrig, GridTracker, and VNC (macOS Screen Sharing) together, but perfectly functional.

I have a few older Mac Mini boxes that make nice Debian machines, so that's always another option.

Re: No Serial Port? (QDX on Mac OS) #qdx

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Doug,

Did you get the new Alpha version of flrig? In flrig for the QDX set the volume slider to at least 50% for Wsjtx.

BTW, I had to tell Wsjtx to use a good freq. Just changing the frequency in flrig didn't get Wsjtx functioning.

If nothing received then does Wsjtx see the QDX sound card? Does the Wsjtx sound level show above 30%?

Rpi4 (x2), Rpi3B+(x2), Rpi2B, ITX intel atom330 1.6ghz dual core,

Haven't added the Rpi400 as haven't installed WSJT yet.
Since it works on the RP4 (both B and D) I see no issues
save for other things take precedence.

I also have a Dell latitude ES5440 Laptop for when I need more cpu
(modeling and emulation).

All running linux

Re: No Serial Port? (QDX on Mac OS) #qdx

HUGE help, Bruce. I particularly appreciated the sommand to release the serial port for other apps. I would have taken me a long time to figure that out.

Still haven't got it all working, but good to know I can access the telnet interface.
