Re: QCX-mini LCD Back-light - spurious voltage
OK so it would appear R100 (130k ohm) was OC. Have briged pin 15 to Q100 with a 150kOhm (it's all I had) and back light is shining bright. Proper 5v on pin15 and 0v on pin 16. All the? way its mean

Re: QCX-mini LCD Back-light - spurious voltage
Hi Sam. I think your idea of faulty Q100 could be correct. To make sure first, though, please measure the voltage on the gate of Q100 while switching the backlight mode on and off in the menu. You

Yes. Using a balun seems to get rid of a lot of noise in many circumstances, as well as solving rf in the shack type issues that make rigs to odd things. Deffo worth using a balun. -- - 73 de Andy -

Thanks, Colin, I guess you really do get what you pay for. I tried calibrating the offset on the Amazon ones, but then realized I needed (at least) gain and offset for each sensor, so I just threw in

Hi, I finally replaced the red LED supplied by Hans by an orange bought from our local shop. My cheap Chinese tester shows Uf 1.87V for the red and 1.91V for the orange. So, the difference is smaller

Is it possible that this device was not calibrated (or is a cheap Chinese rip off) and doesn¡¯t have a calibration constant programmed into it? This kind of thing is not uncommon with DS18B20
